27k miles on mine and not one issue with it, ever. It is the quietest, smoothest shifting manual transmission I have ever owned.

10k miles on mine to date. No major issues, same as most I assume. Slightly clunky 1-2 shift when cold (no grind though, just rough), same in left turns, and more gear noise than I'd like. Otherwise it shifts smooth and I like the ratios. The MGW shifter was a nice upgrade. If I'd never read all the stuff on the web about this, I'd probably never think about it. Every manual tranny I've owned has had some sort of rough edge here and there but I focus on it a bit more after all the internet horror stories.

Same here...

My 2012 with 12k miles is at the dealership currently having the trans rebuilt. New input shaft seal, all new bearings and I think they mentioned some gears on the counter shaft as well. Never a problem with shifting warm or cold just whined really loud, could hear it echo off walls or any hard object as you drove by(was quiet when new). I'm guessing there was some kind of shavings or other contaminate that didn't get fully cleaned out before assembly that slowly ate away at it.

Not even 1100 miles. Its a little whiney with gears, and noisy in between shifts with the clunk(not just mt-82 thing) otherwise its perfect. Buttery smooth!

I only have 5K on mine. A bit noisy and used to missed the 2-3 shift quite a bit but the MGW took care of that.

P.S. Haven't heard of any #8 issues lately. Did FORD figure those out as well?:deadhorse:

No, they have nothing to figure out. The tuners on the other hand have figured it out

I'm on my second one. First one was replaced around 10k mile, had a horrible whine in 1-4(could hear it over the heartthrobs), and sometimes had an issue going into second. This one is having a little issue with 2 and 3 but nothing to be massively concerned about. If it's up for the challenge of 20+ passes this weekend and doesn't make any noises afterwards, I'll be keeping it, otherwise it's going back to ford.

Its just now getting below 70 degrees here. I just double clutch into 2nd in the morning until the transmission warms up.

I won't use 2nd till the MTG warms up. Since it's getting cold that takes a good 10 minutes. Then it shifts fine. 3000 miles on the car. Never had to do this with my 3650 and a 40% reduction shifter.

Mine is in the shop having the tranny tore into. I have had a problem since day one. The transmission was ALWAYS notchy with second gear being the worst. It got progressively worse over time to the point that second gear was grinding horribly and it wouldn't go into first gear sometimes at a stop. Bent shift fork as well as a shot synchro. The dealership tried to bend the shift fork back to fix it. WTF Ford.....

Lol...there were non tuned cars that ate #8. Don't fool yourself.
if out of 50,000 cars 5 of them crack a piston in bone stock form then this is not a big problem. I've only heard about 1 car the was 100% stock, 2 others had the cats removed. I'm sure there are more, but like i said 1% of the cars have this problem stock, then its nothing to worry about
