I'm super excited to be here! A couple of years ago, I sold my beloved 2013 GT in Gotta Have It Green and boy do I miss it. We were moving out of state and had too many cars, so I made the difficult decision to part with it. Plus, I developed a sensitive Achilles tendon due to a previous injury and wasn't able to drive it as much (manual transmission). It wasn't long after the move that my regret for selling it ramped up. Then my wife, daughter and mom all got together for my birthday to purchase a 2009 GT Premium in Performance White with only 69k miles on it from the 2nd owner, who had kept it in the garage it's entire life. The 2nd owner is good friends with the first owner, who owns a Ford dealership in Boise who had it for 3 years. Both of them kept it meticulously maintained according to them -- and CarFax agrees. It only has a few tasteful upgrades, such as the flush-mounted quarter louvres, American Racing mags, and Pypes exhaust. Otherwise, it is bone stock. It has an automatic transmission, which in some ways is a bummer, but it does mean that I can drive it more often and not worry about the Achilles tendon. The glass roof is also incredible and something I didn't have in the 2013.
Overall, I prefer this Mustang and I'm so appreciative of my wonderful girl trio. They are so good to me.
Planned upgrades are sequential taillights and I hope I can find something that maintains the stock look but diffuses the LEDs so that each section of the taillights are filled solid with each blink; that would be sweet but I'm not sure it's possible yet. I'm not completely sold on the chrome rims, but I do love those American Racing mags -- I would like to put the same rims on this car that I had on the 2013. I'm also considering swapping the driving lights for fog lights (perhaps just a simple bulb change?). Probably the only other thing I want to do is figure out a better way to keep the rear deck lid panel clean -- that recessed honeycomb pattern is a challenge and rather tedious to clean.
Anyway, I'm glad to be here and looking forward to participating.
