OP, I think it looks great on a black car!

I did mine myself. Just got a bottle of 3in1 oil, dumped the contents, cleaned out the bottle with brake cleaner, then mixed up my paint and went to town. You just need to make sure you just barely cut off enough of the applicator to have a small hole for the paint to come out of. Didn't even use tape on the letters or small lines.

Just patience and attention to detail is all you need.
