Just got my car back from the dealer for the trans tsb and I asked them to look at my brakes. I dont have any bad brake charistics but almost every slow down is squeaky, ive got 6600 miles on it and the dealer said they dont see a problem. So noise isnt enough of a problem to make them tear into it or change pads. Does anyone else have the brembos and this issue. I had bembos on my last car and though they were dirty they never made any noise!!

LOL. Ive had this problem since I was at 5000 miles. This worried me about getting the Brembo package before I bought it because my wifes 135i has Brembos and they squeak also. I have found that removing the front pads, cleaning them and re-applying some "no squeak gel" to the back of the pads and retaing pins helps for about every 2000 miles. After that it slowly starts to squeak again. Takes about 15 minutes to do this each time but is totally worth it to not have squeaky brakes all the time. I do admit its annoying and embarrising to have squeaky brakes but its the only way I know to keep it to a minimum. Hope this helps.

Is he 135 still have MP on it? If it does take it in and if the pads are less than 7.5mm they will replace them, because it the brake sensor contacting the rotor.

And put some heat to them.

Do this 2 or 3 times. Brembos are designed for hard braking and not for driving like an old lady.

First off. I don't drive like an "old lady".

My 5.0 currently has 8 laps on the Nuerburg Ring and thousands of miles of Autobahn driving of speeds of 150+ running against M3's, Porsches, 6.3 AMG's and a list of other stupid fast european cars. Ive had many close calls on the autobahn were I had to smash the brakes at 120-130+ to avoid an accident. Breaks have sqeaked since day 1 and have continued to this day. Only thing that helps is the "anti-sqeak gel" on pad backings every 1500-2000 miles.

Hawaii just doesn't offer too many long stretches nor are the roads anywhere close to a safe condition for those speeds.

If it makes you feel any better the standard GT brakes on my 12' squeak like crazy too. I have 4k on em. I just take into account the "better" brake compound they put on the 11'+ 5.0's.

Is there a USAFB near you ? With your pedigree you shouldn't be asking questions about Brembos.

Yes theres a Airbase about 7 miles from me, not sure what difference that makes. Don't know what the "pedigree" comment was geared towards.

You commented that I or other forum members shouldn't drive our cars like "old ladys". I was just simply telling you what ive done and where ive been in my car.

IMHO, all the cars ive owned that came with Brembo's have always squeaked. Its a give take upgrade.

Lets get this thread back on topic.

I will try the anti sqeak gel today, thanks for the idea. I assumed it was glazed over pads or something . I wouldnt be suprised either ,cause I dont think ive driven my car once and not had it over 100
