If you can get it in a 50, that would be great, but I don't think they make it in that.

I use the 295/45/17 new style M/T drag radial. (pic 3)

I have experience with both A and B. I run 255/50/16's( B ) for my TBird and have a set of those on 16" 05 Mustang V6 rims for my Mustang. I also have 26/11.5/17( A ) on 9" Bullitts for the 05 Mustang. I prefer A for my Mustang and will experiment a bit next year with my TBird to see which I like better for it. I am selling the V6 Rims and tire combo if you are interested.

I was a bit reluctant when I had to buy a car with an auto tranny, until my first day at the track. stage as shallow as possible, bring the R's up to 2k (and that is STANDING on the brake pedal) when the last amober comes on GOOOOO!!!! gives around a .5 r/t give or take a few and a green ligh launch everytime. BY the way I just leave it in drive and let the car do its thing, I have tweeaked the shift points to around 52-55 for 2-3 and 3-4. on 1/8 mile I am in 4th for about 1-2 seconds when I go through the traps. Chickenshit little strip I go to does not have 60' time, but it is still a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry about the lights when you are learning how to launch, the timer does not start until you move. so forget about RT, get that 60' down. Remember for every 1/10th you gain on the 60' is 2/10ths at the trap.

I just got back from the track. And the first thing to say is I sucked..

First run I ran 14.7
Second run I ran 14.22

I had stock tires on 275/40/18 fanblades ( stock rims ) michelin pilot sport.

If your wondering my mods

lca, uca, relocation brackets, 4.10's, spydershaft, cmcv, jlt II , and a 93 extreme tune. ohh yeah and MGW short throw shifter.

Guys Any tips ? what to do ?

u know the second run was vs a camaro with cams and lt's and slicks.. thats what I only know ... he got 14.42

do u think nittos will be good for this track ? and how hard is it to remove the front sway bar ? whats the correct tire pressure on front and rear wheels ? should I take off the spare tire or not ?

Please help me as im new to drag racing.. and getting 14 with my mods is embarasing..

Everyone above is correct, you gotta get your 60' times down. On my car the only way I could get the 60' to a 2.0 or better was to launch at almost idle. I mean I was launching about 1000-1200 rpm. anything higher and I would spin hard. I never did learn to slip the clutch to leave at higher rpm. My best time N/A on factory rubber (18's) was 13.316@106 with a 1.9+ 60'. The only mods to the car at that time was JLT2 CAI, 4:10's and LCA's. Keep at it, you'll get there.

Oh, you do turn off the TCS right? Or have it turned off in the tune?
