So I purchased a used set of valve covers from blackgt09 on here(thanks again for the deal!) to powder coat for my car. I did them in 4 layers, an epoxy primer base for durability, chemical and outgassing protection, a smoothing primer, a chrome powder as the base color and the top coat which is flat plate blue transparent. They turned out pretty damn good I think except for the edge of the VCT areas I capped and filled. The blue powder just didn't want to take well around the edge but I can live with that since they are mine. Here's some crappy cell phone pictures I shot last night.

ROFL! My step-mother commented on that damn wand/tiara on facebook. I didn't even think about what else was in the pics when I took them.

They were given to my wife as a gag gift for the "magic" she worked this past weekend at her job.

:roflmao:

I've been thinking about doing it in that color, but with it being dark it would soak up heat during the summer sun. I stripped the yellow back off it and it has a metallic silver on it for a base but I need to figure out a top coat over the metallic. I may just clear it and call it a day.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I'm quite pleased with how the color turned out.

I put some of this color on a scrap piece of angle iron I had and I want to see what it would look like with clear over it to make it smooth and glossy. Hopefully I'll find the time this weekend to do that and if I like it these covers may get the same treatment.

Thanks for the compliment.
