Ok...just checked the NMRA rules for '09. Damn things have changed from last season.
WHEELS: DOT tires and wheels required. Spindle-mount front wheels and Drag Slicks are prohibited. Tires must fit inside stock, unaltered rear wheel wells. Inner fender lip may be rolled to protect rear tire sidewalls but not trimmed or removed.

Looks like the bias ply is legal. They just keep fucking with the rules until it is no longer a street car class. There is one guy who wants to run his Cobra Jet car. After reading the rules.....damn if it isn't legal. There is nothing in there that states "street legal, licensed, and inspected" like Ultra Street does. Kills the whole idea of the class in my opinion.

Sorry for the rant, Matt. Carry on, kid!

Matt, I can't even begin to tell you how impressed I am with how your build is coming. Keep up the great work. That car looks mean and I can't wait to hear what kind of times it puts down. I'm selling my 20s and making my car a bit more purpose built and I'm getting a LOT of ideas from yours.

Thanks for the kind words, im glad that its coming out the way I had planned in my head. Everyone asks me where I get certain Ideas from and to be honest it's all these ideas I came up with before I bought the car. I love clean looks, badass race rims and cowl hoods :D Im glad I have inspired you to make some changes on your car. Not that you car isn't nice as it is :)

trust me, I can't wait to get seat time in this biatch xD

damn I took my spare out the other day and noticed I didn't have as much sound deadening as you did. Only had the stuff directly in the middle. odd...

Curious, how much of a diff. did the side mirrors weight? If you didnt weigh them did they feel lighter and how much? I can tell they are deff. more aerodynamic. Thanks for the help.

Looking awesome Matt! Nicely done.

I was just teling my wife over the weekend that I need to get serious about dropping some weight too (on the car... not me personally). I'm not sure yet how far I'm willing to go since it is still my daily driver, but I need to do something.

BTW, I might have missed it somewhere earlier... do you know what the passenger seat weighs in at?

I was just skimming back through this thread and two things caught my eye....

1. It's amazing how many times you had to answer the question "What cowl hood is that?" LOL

2. You never said if the car was an auto or manual. Which is it? I was assuming manual but just wanted to make sure.
