I think it'd be ridiculous to over look the Whipple with their gen2 rotors. Am I saying that Whipple is the best? It's the most complete kit and I love mine, but I'd look at S/C's such as Whipple, KB, and Techco. If you are looking for a built block, I'm guessing you have big hp goals. Whipple and KB are the 2 twinscrews that have the most power potential and the most accessories you can buy such as 8-rib kits like the one that Steeda sells. My Whipple runs cool, sounds great, is my DD, running the 10psi FRPP tune, had it on for 15k miles, and love it! If I had it to do all over again though I'd of looked at a TT turbo horsepower kit (turbohorsepower.com). They give great gas mileage just like a T/S when not in boost, look great, sound great, and make amazing power...just not CARB legal from what I've understood. Why get a BAP when you can get a whole new fuel system with the Whipple though? I love the looks and performance of a KB, but I've seen people that run the KB's stop making passes to cool the engine, while Whipple owners with the same boost #'s and same power out still making passes. Saleen isn't really worth it. I know that the guy that has a Saleen is going to say something, but even though the Whipple is more expensive, it's a better deal since it is a more complete kit that is also easier to work on (pulley swaps, etc.) Roush TVS is another GREAT one to look at

Having run both the Whipple and the Edelbrock on my car I would go with the Edelbrock out of those two choices. The reason is the Edelbrock will perform as well if not better than the Whipple and it is a better price than the Whipple.

I had Brenspeed install a stage 3 kit on my DD (08 Vert)about a month ago, 9 hour drive at 75 and 80 average 22.5 MPG with 4:10 gears. I drive 60 miles everyday country and city roads and have gotten over 20 MPG on each tank full. I have no issues so far and I was very impressed with the Brenspeed staff. Hope this helps! This car is a blast to drive!

I have a gen 1 whipple I bought a few years ago. At the time I actually got the whipple for cheaper than I could have gotten a saleen. I agree the fit and finish and thought of this kit is like OEM. It just looks at home on the motor. My car is my DD and I am coming up on 20k trouble free S/C miles. 10psi and a VMP dyno tune my car made 484rwhp and 469rwtq.

I hade alot of trouble picking FI years ago when there were far less choices. It would be even harder now. If I was in the market now I probably wouldnt get a Whipple just because the price hike was so large. I think a Hellion Turbo kit would be fun to try, but my long term plans are to stick with the whipple.

Honestly any FI kit out there from anyone you ever heard of will make 460rwhp (ish) safely on a street motor. It isnt till you start looking for more that the limitations will come in. Oh and sorry the one exception to the above is the Roushcharger, avoid that one IMO.

my Kenne Bell runs cool as a cucumber

I don't have a SC yet.

I like KB a lot. Please convince me the air filter behind the front bumper with all that open space 8 inches or so to the ground is safe from being splashed.

I like KB a lot. But I'm having trouble getting over worrying about my air filter just asking to be splashed with water.

If you just wanted to sit around 425rwhp that would be fine to go with the Saleen Stage 2..my friend is making 500rwhp with the saleen supershaker on the stock internals. (tuned/installed by brenspeed, who I'd recommend for sure) If you have higher power goals than that then I'd agree with the others that you need something that can hold more power. like they were saying.. The KB might be a good choice.

Since it is your DD though a reliable brenspeed saleen package (I'm planning on doing the 3) is a good choice. I'll have to do some research on that edelbrock. Last I heard many people were having issues getting it to even work properly, and then they were only getting 400rwhp...

You might want to discuss your future upgrade plans with brenspeed... I believe I've heard something about a vortech V7...

Thanks to all of you for your input - I am going to go with the Stage 2 Saleen and have a date scheduled with Brenspeed for the install.

I recentley saw a saleen on a car in person and got to work on it. I was shocked by the clutter it creates. Since theres no real advantage to a saleen, id really go TVS. If you want a little cheaper go whipple. Its so clean and easy to work on. And it looks so nice see?

God I just wanna send that pic to whipple.

I would love to educate, but i dont know if you would comprehend. I mean on 11 psi i made 521 rwhp out of my saleen that apearantly as you said, has no real advantage. ive run 10.9 out of that same car with 17ince tires a full interior. but like you said. thiers no advantage. I have never and will never say one blower is better than the other. i beileve that all 2.3s are the same

now comparing it to a 2.2 or 2.8 or etc etc is just stupid. but what do i know. At the end of the day im happy.

I have settled on installing a Saleen supercharger in my car and plan on using Brenspeed for the install - has anybody used them before? How was the experience? Would you recommend them again? Any issues you encountered? Please provide feedback as this is the only mod I have not done myself and it is a significant investment and I would appreciate your input.

I just returned from Brenspeed two weeks back with a buddy that had some mods done by them.
The link has some Pics you might like I took while there.
Main info. on visit is Post#45

I will be going back this July for the Saleen Blower install also.

Have used Brenspeed many times and can tell you they are a 1st class operation.

I will be very interested to read what you think once you have your install done.
