Need input/help deciding...

Last week I picked up a new to me 2013 A6 GT. I immediately ordered wheels, tires, suspension, and a few cosmetic upgrades while I was looking in to where to start on the engine. This car is not a daily dirver and will be a toy for occasional street/strip use. Original plan was full bolt ons: boss im, intake, long tubes, off road x, nitrous and a tune. But upon reading and searching I found out that a converter would be a best first step. So I will be picking up a 3c or 4c asap. I already have an airaid CAI and nitrous outlet hardline plate kit I got good deals on in the classifieds sections. So where I'm having a hard time deciding due to all the mixed feedback on both is which combo will be more beneficial. Boss intake manifold and off road x pipe, or long tubes and off road x pipe? I'm leaning towards a boss manifold and off road x. I know the stock exhaust manifolds flow well is why I'm debating on holding off on long tubes. And I know the engine needs to have the piss revved out of it in order boss manifold to shine. I'll be getting an aed or lund tune I'm pretty confident they both have the A6 tuning down and will be able to set the shift points properly to take advantage of the boss. I'm over thinking it and trying to be a cheap a$$ and should just buy both. But any input would be appreciated.

CAI, Boss Manifold, O/R Mid, Resonator delete, mufflers of your choosing and a quality auto tune from Mike at Mid Atlantic Performance. He does wonders for the 6R80 tuning.

This, minus the tune. Ive seen a lot of stuff about Mid Atlantic being backed up and not getting tunes out. I would call him, see how you feel with him then go from there.

Thanks guys. I've heard Mike was the best with the 6r80. But I've also read as of late his customer service has not been the best because hes hard to get a hold of. I honestly can not confirm this at all and it is in fact hearsay. I've just read it recently a few times during my Google crusades trying to make my mind up. I just would like to slap it all on at once get 2 tunes and call it a day until I need more power. Hopefully thats not in the near future. That's why I'm torn on long tubes or not right now. It's a huge hassle on the install and an additional 700ish on the bill.

I've had many cars in the past. But I had a dedicated shop and tuner to lean on plus I had prior experience with the platforms. This is a totally new platform to me. Although general modding and mechanics are the same there's just alot of debate over what works and what doesn't.

That and a good tune will be the two best mods you can do performance wise outside of F/I. You will literally be shredding tires at will on the street.

Ok. I got with beefcake and they're willing to cut a really good deal on converter, long tubes, off road x, SCT x4 with 91/e85/and nitrous tunes. I'll just need to pickup a boss manifold. They're like 475 shipped right now at American muscle with the 5% off code. I'm on 305/35/20 nitto nt555r drag radials for my cruising tires. I know not the best but they hook I can't spin them un tuned on stock power. So it's a good middle ground for a street tire. I've seen them do ok on the strip as well when heated properly. But I'll probably have a separate big sidewall mt radial for the track.

Well i just decided to grab it all dont want any regrets wishing i went with this or that instead. But ill be doing circle d 3c converter, boss im, intake, long tubes, OR x, injectors so i can run e85, nitrous plate kit, sctx4, and 91/e85/nitrous tunes. thanks for the input

I would talk to Chris at Circle D but I imagine, with your plans, that he will recommend the 5C converter. Mike can be hard to get hold of sometimes but his tunes are well worth the effort.
