Same thing that confused me, if its a FRPP block I believe cometics is your only choice for gasket.

Bruce, can a aluminum block be sleeved to 3.7 bore ?

OP, I think you have a 3.75 stroke with stock bore. This equates to a 5 liter motor. Other option is a 3.7 bore and stock stroke, yields a 5 liter.

It can be done. I don't think there is a good track record with doing it though. Hopefully the op has a standard bore.

how can i find out with the block all assembled

Measure. It's either going to be around 3.5xx or 3.700" for bore. Measure how far down the piston is at bdc and subtract how far down it is a tdc to get stroke. You will also want to measure endplay.

Dial caliper? It should also have a scale printed on it. A ruler or tape measure would be good enough to get an idea of what you have, it's not like we are setting tolerances or anything, just getting an idea of what you have. Stroke should be 3.75 but it might be 3.8. Bore should be 3.5xx but it might be 3.7xx.

I'd be real interested on how they sleeved it if it is indeed sleeved. At one time I came close to sleeving a mod block with cammer sleeves but in the end I just didn't want to risk it.

Lito is the way to go for remote tuning.

How far are the pistons in the hole at tdc?

What do you mean remote tuning? As in just email tune?

Because my car never came with a tuner and has a crappy tune on there right now... Would be nice to have a hand held device and a solid tune on my car... Would there be an issue without having my stock tune?

Sorry for thread hijack but always wondered this.

Shouldn't be an issue. SCT will pick up whatever tune is on your car and replace it.

OP: Get that motor in!
