At famoso and just hit a new PB EVERYTHING a couple hours ago on my setup. Didn't get the new m/h's in today so I ran my usual stock 17" setup with the new m/h's I had bought. Tell you times when its over in two hours. Let's just say I beat a street bike haha! Cool video on its way later guys. Time to move up in the et boards.
Can't wait to try the big and littles next time!

thanks guys, just got home. i can't wait til may 15th when i hit the track again on those 15" big and littles! i spoke with my tuner to tell him the good news and he couldn't believe it. stock motor, stock converter with my setup..... he asked, "how do you feel about going for 10's?" of course i responded.... "i'm in!"

gonna bump the nitrous shot up a little bit and hope for a goal of 10.99 with the big and littles in may. there was a guy there who owns a shop and had a new challenger with twin turbos and one of the WCHRA guys had come over to ask me about my car when i first pulled in, he told me about that guy with the turbos and said we should meet. The guy was impressed with the car and even mentioned sponsorship on a turbo setup. i'll be getting in touch with him pretty soon and see where that goes.

for now, i'll be happy with a measily 11.46 with my mods.... maybe looking at 11.2's or 11.3's with the big and littles on there. second run i didn't focus on rt's and tried seeing how high i could hold the stall. with the new rotors and brake pads i found out i could hold the stall just over 2k compared to just under 2k with the old stock pads and rotors. i don't have the cable from my buddies video camera so i can't load the video today but will definitely have it up asap tomorrow morning. here are the two slips for today...

thanks guys. yeah i know that torque is way up there for the stock converter but it seems to be holding up well so far. i'm not that far from a 10.99 pass once i get the big and littles on and i'd love to hit just ONE 10 second pass and be done with the nitrous. just to say i did it with the stock motor and stock tranny.

hey US- the guy was tom nelson from team performance products. So you're the one he was telling me about?????? he mentioned a mustang they have sponsored that goes all the way to florida doing races and has hit a 10.8 on an all stock motor and a torque converter. i don't know how serious he was about working something out but i am DEFINITELY interested in working with him on anything he can help with. i'm going to need a roll bar now so i might contact him within the next few days about that. Tom was a real cool guy and i'd love to take a drive down to oxnard to check out the shop someday soon. pm me some info about your car bro. i'd really like to see some pics, etc from your car.

as far as the 60's go, i hit the exact same 60' - 1.55 on both passes with the m/h's i run. i always talk to the guys in the staging lanes about these tires and tell them they hook REALLY GOOD. most of them wonder how i pull those 60's and i tell them it's the m/h's. ive never run anything other than m/h's but then again i've never had problems hooking at the line so ive never tried anything else. John Hashim works with me when i'm out at the track and was excited to hear about my new pb. he came out to the track a while later and was hanging out with me in the staging lanes talking to other guys about his tires.

Yup......this is the car:

Stock engine, transmission, 3.31 geared rear end, 8 psi, 10 degrees of timing. I do have a 2500 rpm torque converter though.

Are they running both the Charger and Challenger out there?

He has the new challenger out there but said its not ready yet. Said they're still working on the electronics. He did have his old car out there though. I really hope we can work something out for a turbo setup. I'd love to get into a built engine turbo'd monster!

Better get the built engine yourself. I've got the turbo kit but no built engine yet. I managed to get TechCo to agree to do the tuning on the Challenger last week but Heath didn't have time to get the car over to them. I'm curious to see what it will do when it is PROPERLY tuned and doesn't have that damned AEM crap hooked up.

What class are you running out there?

i didn't run any class this weekend. Just did the test and tune day on friday. I was going to run the new e gas 11.60 class but after running the 11.45 and never running an event like this i decided i'd skip the event this time until i'm a little more comfortable with the setup. next time out i'll finally have some tires for the big and littles so i'm thinking i'll be somewhere near 11.2-11.3's.

As far as the built engine i plan on getting that done from adam at ST when the time is right. for now i'd be happy with running safe boost on the turbo with the setup i have right now. I have ARH longtubes and nitrous so i figure i could sell that and use that money towards anything else i'd want to do to the car. right now i need to figure out where i am going to get the roll cage installed.

Call Paul Bartlett for the roll bar setup. He did mine when he worked for Tom Nelson. It's fantastic work. 805-290-5585. Be sure and tell him S.D. sent you.
