We use a 5 gallon cell in the trunk. We've used the Meziere pump and on this build we're using the Hugh Precision pump ( which is basically a pool pump ) basically some hose and fittings. We usually use the aluminun cells and modify the tops for a larger lid instead of the regular fuel cell lid.

The picture is our front mount 1250hp intercooler. Our 1500hp front mount is on the Twin Turbo car with no issues. Justin had the 1500hp front mount on his car at Zmax last year with track temps at 145degrees and after the True Street cruise his ICE pass never got over 80deg IAT's.

The PT2000 is good up to 1800rwhp per Precision. I think we'll be ok.

I made 780rwhp on my stock little 03 cobra intercooler and with a 2gallon ice box in 100 deg heat only saw 130deg IAT's w/a 28psi Kenne Bell sitting on top using a stock pump.

I'm a Welder and I have never welded chrome-moly before!! Would like to know what you use to weld it with! A type of stainless?

Yeap It's Chrommoly. It's going to be a 25.5 spec less Funny car cage at this point. I will have to ask what he uses.

But your front mount cooler is actually a lot larger when talking about the actual fins and cooling space. A lot of that PT2000 is the in and out for the air. The actual 'cooler' part is not so big. The picture is deceiving. It also makes a big difference on the pump (which you guys are doing good) and the amount of travel in and out of the cooler to and from its' destinations.

I wish you guys the best but I still think if you plan on going with that car where I think you do - then you are going to be 86'ing that PT2000 real quick. It netted me 120+ IAT's and now I am less than half once I axed it. Keep me posted though as I'm curious to see how it does.

Most use an ER80S-D2 rod.....A lot will use ER70S-2, they say the 70 is better for non heat treated materials...

Interesting! ER70S is a mild steel rod! I thought Chrome-moly was a type of SS!

The part behind the seat is not load bearing. It's the back portion of a funny car cage. If you go to a big event you'll see that is how there all made.
