New member from northern Sweden

Long time musclecar fan and owner from northern Sweden here. Always liked the looks of the S197. Finally added a 2006 GT to the fleet beginning of this season.

A low mileage satin silver GT ”premium” that left Flat Rock with ”64E” wheels and all of the options except for the Shaker 1000 stereo.

I have already found a lot of quality information on here. Now registering to ask more questions and hopefully contribute with some of my knowledge.

Yes, I would say Mustangs in general are popular at the Swedish car shows and meets. Not only the S197, but also the first generation. Ford did not market the S197 in Sweden until the last year model or so, but quite a few of the early ones found their way across the pond, either privately imported or imported through specialized companies. My 2006 GT was imported to Sweden in 2017.

Yup, the local muscle car season stretches only from ~ 1st of May until ~ 1st of October. December until April we are covered in 3’ of snow…some winters even the double…

I am into vintage snowmobiles - specifically 90’s ”muscle sleds” - so I’ve got my winter rides covered, too.
