There the OP hasn't even come back here to say what happened. We don't know the situation. Maybe the shop sponsored the car and drove the car to make sure shit on it was right. Who knows. Don't just assume and post stupid shit.

Sorry Agent Jones I dont know. All I know is that there was nothing custom about it. They took the Whipple out of the box and installed the FR tune. I was supposed to go back and get a Dyno and never got the chance. I wont make that mistake twice.

when I installed the KB,and called them, they said 91 at least....

that is correct...atleast 91...if you live in an area that gets 93 then get 93...

normally areas do not carry both 91 and 93...they are both classified as super unleaded or premium unleaded. they are the top of the line for pump gas generally

Paint guy drove it to spot weld the exhaust. The exhaust had moved just a tad so it would vibrate against the body. Was going to remove the clamp and do a better weld.

Update

One question that has come up is compression vs, boost. The engine builder has stated that the 10:1 compression (Stock) is what killed the rods. The comments below seems to make sense and was posted on another forum:

The other point of failure are the rods. There is a LOT of talk on this
board about how the rods are the weak point in the S197 drive train.
But I challenge anyone to show me a photo a of a rod that failed in
compression at boost of 14 psi or less. There are none because the rods
do not fail in compression, i.e. the power
of the supercharger bending them. They fail in tension, i.e. high RPMs
pulling them apart. The inertial loading (tension) of a rod increases by the square of the engine RPM. That means if you increase the RPMs from 6000 to 6600 you've increase the load on the rods by 40%. If you want more power, don't increase the RPM, increase the psi and keep the RPM below 6000

My builder wants to take my compression down to 8:5 to 1 instead of 10:1. I assume this is another one of the topics that opinions vary based on experience. My concern is that If I allow the 8:5to 1 then I cant use the default ford racing tune. Living in Oklahoma makes it near impossible to find a tuner that is well respected but maybe that is nationwide as well.

Do 9.3 minimum, on a forged rod the rod will not fail unless your doing something you shouldn't be with it, the bolt will. I've said it a million times. With the bolt that eagle kit comes with your good for 8500 RPM @ 700 horsepower.

Im just not understanding the builder blaming your stock compression on the failure. There are thousands of S197s running around with Twin screw powered motors and stock internals. If the tune is safe and everythings in check. The motor should not pop. Yes crazy things can happen...but to blame it on your STOCK compression seems a bit far fetched

Am I wrong in assuming this?
