Thinking of getting a 2012 5.0, 6mt, coupe through military car sales. Options will be brembo brake pkg, hids/security pkg, comfort pkg, shaker 1000. What else would you guys add. For the colors I'm deciding between Kona Blue w/ silver stripes w/ blk leather interior or Lava Red w/ blk leather or lava red option interior.

Would you wait for a 2013/14 5.0?

Since I'm one of the haters (of the rear end) I would wait for the 2014 and see what they come out with.

Sold my stang a month ago. Catch is I won't be driving it until 2014 when I come back to the states from Germany. It'll be put in storage until I come back. The discounts will increase lowering my price over the next few yes on a 2012

I say wait. You will be able to see what they come out with in 2014. Also by then if you decide to just buy a 5.0 they should be cheaper by then. Keep your options open before you commit.

If you wont even be able to drive it , I would certainly wait to purchase until you are coming back. That way you can see what the new mustangs are looking like or get a 12 5.0 for much much cheaper.

yep, if you wont be here, then waiting is win/win. You may not like the 50 anniv 2014, but then again it will have more power weigh less...

I have the option of using the Ford x-plan which I can use if the price is lower. I know the price of the car itself will be cheaper but how does the price work with add-on's such as the options I listed above?

I'm waiting for the new body makeover. It makes more financial sense in my case as my current stang will be paid off and I will have had it a year or two with no payment. Then,if I like the new stang I wll buy one. If not I may. Just go with something else.

Since it's just going in storage i'd personally wait....if you were going to drive and enjoy it now then i would go for it.

I say wait, since you won't be driving it for a while and wait to see what happens in the next few years...

I will never understand the military guys who buy a new car and let it depreciate in storage for a year or 2....you are going to spend a few 1000 dollars jsut to say you own something...and by the time you return there will be something better out...

Just start socking money away while you are over there brudda....trust me, its a way smarter move than buying a car now and just letting it sit....

why buy a car and park it for 3 years. When you do come home, your factory warranty will damn near be expired and the car wont have but a few miles on it. I'd wait. Let your money make you money and have more when you come home. You may be able to afford a GT500 by then.

By the time I come back a 5.0 will make just about the same power as a GT500 to a certain extent.

I wouldn't get the Shaker 1,000 package. Get the 500 and listen to it for a while. If you still want more bass, add an aftermarket subwoofer.
