Just wanted to post up a little run through of my install experience with the Nitrous Outlet plate kit for the 2011 Coyote. Prior to install the car only had simple boltons: JLT CAI, Lethal O/R H pipe and a TORQ tune. Other than that, just suspension, gauges and appearance mods.
What I purchased from Nitrous Outlet and LRS:
Coyote Plate Kit w/10# bottle
Purge Kit
Remote Bottle Opener
Console switch panel
Progerssive Controller/Window Switch
Autometer Cobalt 2-1/16" Electric N02 pressure gauge (JEGS)
SOS dual pillar pod (Lethal)
I will say that install was not too bad. I had absolutely NO experience with N02 systems before this but am pretty mechanically inclined. The instructions that came with the kit were not for a 2011 and Nitrous Outlet doesn't currently offer instructions specifically for the Coyote platform. I've read that Nitrous Express has the same issue. I did talk to the guys at Nitrous Outlet and they apparently have something in the works for this. On top of that, the guys at Nitrous Outlet were EXTREMELY helpful, offering any support they could over the phone for questions I had along the way.
So, like I said, install was not too bad. Basically just plumbing and wiring, not rocket science. The kit comes in two forms. The base form comes with SS braided hoses that go from the fuel and nitrous solenoids to the plate. They offer an upgrade that comes with pre-bent SS 5/16" hardlines that replace those braided hoses from solenoid to plate. The hardline kit also comes with a custom mounting bracket to mount the solenoids in a specific position in order to utilize the pre-bent hardlines.
So originally I ordered the base kit with all hoses. The problem I ran into was that the hoses are a little longer than they needed to be for where I was installing my solenoids. That posed two issues: a "congested" look with the slack in the hoses kind of bent and routed where it could be and the fact that the hoses are so stiff that that slack was kind of hard to manage.
After doing the install with the hoses I decided to opt for the hardline addition. When it came in I had a few small issues. IF I was either not using an electric pressure gauge or if I had the sending unit for that pressure gauge mounted differently the issue would not have come up.
So, since I had the sending unit mounted directly upstream of the nitrous solenoid I had a bit more bulk to work with. There is a (blurry) pic of the sending unit, nitrous solenoid and purge solenoid all plumbed together attached. The sending unit is on the left in the pic, so that is where the nitrous input line hooks up.
I was able to manipulate the hardline that Nitrous Outlet sent for the fuel solenoid but the one for the nitrous solenoid was not even close to what I needed for where I had to mount it. I decided at this point to get some lines and try bending them myself. I picked up a tubing bender and cutter from Northern Tool for about $25 and got some straight lines send from Nitrous Outlet that were already flared on one end for the AN fittings. I've NEVER bent tubing before, it was not exactly an easy task, lots of trial and error and bending and re-bending. In the end, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. One thing I'd definitely recommend is to use blue loctite on all the NPT fittings for the nitrous instead of liquid teflon. I had no leaking issues on the fuel side but had a few with the nitrous side. I removed, cleaned off the liquid teflon and used the loctite, leaks gone.
With everything all buttoned back up it is not very noticeable under the hood. Since I have a Brembo car, there was no spare tire. That empty spare tire well provided a perfect place to mount the bottle. I'd have to say my favorite part of the system is the switch plate in the center console, very discreet. Still need to stick some velcro on the progressive controller (also in the console) so I can stick it to the side and get it out of the way.
Performance wise I can't really speak for it yet b/c I have not been able to spray. We are working on a tune and I should have it early next week from TORQ. When I have that I'm going to the dyno (haven't dyno'd this car at all yet). I'm going to put it back to stock with the exception of the O/R H pipe and do a pull. Then put the CAI back on and the tune and do a pull. Then do a pull with a 100 shot. I'll post that up when I do.
I'd really recommend buying from Nitrous Outlet/LRS. The guys at Nitrous Outlet provided invaluable support and customer service. I can't thank them enough, especially Chris.
Here are the pics of the finished job, some with the intake removed so you can see where I mounted everything and then some different angles with everything put back together.
