Congrats to Joe, love how the car is working

This is the part that is frustrating about the class. They wanted to get the costs down by going with a sealed Spec engine, but a lot of the dollars that would have gone into trick engine pieces goes into the driveline instead. No knock on you or anyone else in the class, it is just the reality of it. There is just no such animal as a low budget heads up class.
If you think about it though it is low cost as far as real heads up racing goes. Like you said since they are on a spec engine all the money goes into the driveline. Any other heads up car spends the same money to be as efficient as possible in the driveline and then another small fortune on the engine. I love seeing the CS class blow up!
When was the last time you priced ceramic bearings? Nothing about the driveline is cheap if you want to be competitive. Also unless you turn the wrenches on it, the labor cost involved in putting it all together, stripping the weight off the car etc. is quite high.
Let's be clear, these things are race cars.
lol..What does a sealed Coyote crate engine cost?

You can get one from Tousley, Summit, etc...

Haha no forced induction, these are race cars. Yes its a sealed stock engine. we cant change anything from throttle body to oil pan. How ever alot of work has been done to this car to get the drive train loss as low as possible. this car dynos over 450 to the wheels and at a race weight of 3150 well you can do the math. Its been 1.36 60 foots so you get the idea.
Or you can get one from JPC
Its like 200 bucks more then the regular "coyote" since they have to seal it
Care to elaborate on the drive train loss? I can only think of maybe an ac delete fly wheel driveshaft and maybe rear rotors?
what does "sealing" actually entail?
everyone engine better be sealed! lol
