What's up guys!
I'm Marcus from Bavaria!

A month ago I fulfilled myself a childhood dream and bought myself an 07 GT/CS.
Flew over to Ohio for a week, visited a dealer, looked at the car on a lift, test drove it and got my name on the title.

Really clean Texas Car (its seen its first snow at the dealer in Ohio), fully stock, 29.510 Miles on the clock and a clean one owner CarFax.
Everything works, engine runs super smooth and it rides like a dream. Built on the 10/10/2006.

Just got some minor signs of aging like scratches and rock chips on the hood and one on the windscreen plus the front bumper has been repainted since the prev owner probably parked into something.
But all of that can be fixed easily and once it is it will get some nice underbody sealing and a protective transparent wrap. It will only see weekends with nice weather anyways as my weekend fun car.

Currently its already in a container on its way to North Germany were we're gonna pick it up and bring it to the south. Gonna be probably another month until its here tho.....

You guys will probably gonna hear alot from me on here since I have some plans for it and will need some help figuring stuff out and locating parts haha
Its my first Mustang after all and I still can't really believe all of this is happening haha

Catch you all in the next post!

Here are some pictures I took on the test drive.

Welcome, you came to the right place. Eins der besten US Foren. Modding these cars is addictive, unfortunately. ;)

Welcome to the s197 forum.
Is there a large Mustang following in Germany ??
Well.... ever since the S550 came out and was sold officially through Ford Dealers you see alot more of them to the point the S550s have become boring (because everyone with a bit of money can easily get one, no work behind it importing one anymore). But S197s and earlier are still a rare sight. I still wouldn't call it small tho because Mustangs have been globally known for decades and they've been imported for decades.

Good that you got the 18'' wheels, so you can upgrade the front brakes. It is nearby impossible to get 18'' Ford wheel TUV approval if you imported the car with 17'' size. It is easier to declare yourself as dolphin nowadays.

While we're already at the Topic of Brakes and TÜV. I know it's much easier when its already on the car. I'll do all the changes for regulation myself (so I know its quality work) and present the car myself at the TÜV so I might change some stuff before that haha

Which Brake Kit fits under the 18" tho? Since I wanted to get the GT500s but I don't already wanna swap out the wheels. I like them too much. And Ford tells you you need 19" for them.

Funny enough when digging through the parts catalog I saw that Ford put alot of different suspension and steering parts depending on your Wheel size

Good decision. But, not sure if HID get approved and probably a CAI. Or Ford Performance sway bars, I installed some from a 2014 GT and nobody cares as long it is black.

The brakes from the 08 GT500 should fit, but I'm not an expert. Not sure if it is relevant for TÜV, nobody takes care of my not approved brake pads, the Ford OEM are horrible for Autobahn.

Or the supercharger options...... felt like Toys-r-us for men ;)

We got a TÜV guy that's not as strict (at least not on my brothers Sierra Denali) luckily. If its got a carb No. or is directly from Ford its not really a problem, but yea as long as no one notices.... I don't think the police will notice the HIDs not being legal if they say Ford on them. It's not a E46 or Mk5 Golf so they aren't trained on them lol.

So the 4 Piston 14" Inch? I don't know if the 18" CSs inner barrel is as big as the 18" GT500s. Doesn't look like it tbh... They are TÜV relevant, but if they're Ford GT500 brakes there probably won't be any issues. But yea even on the Test Drive I was like: "These brakes need some love".

Yea... but I told myself no mods for at least a year. I gotta learn the car first! Don't wanna end up in the next Mustang Crash Compilation.
Only exception are the brakes, OEM Options (like adding HIDs), Maintenance Items (like a Diff Cover with a drain and catch-cans) and just smaller quality of life stuff.

Quick Update.
2 weeks ago we finally picked it up from Bremerhaven!

IMG-20250515-WA0009.jpg

It was total hell..... mostly because of my brother (the owner of the 2500) who made everything that went wrong even worse with his additude and even caused most of it.... if I wasn't picking up my dream car it would have been a good contender for the worst two days of my life. Like seriously imagine picking up a car you wanted for 20 years and being PISSED and just wanting to go home....

IMG_20250515_223320054.jpg
IMG_20250515_225642624.jpg

But after arriving at the shop, my brother leaving and everything being over, it was all worth it. Buddy of mine showed up aswell and we went through the whole car which was dirty as F***. All the road dirt, salt and whatever from it being transported open to New Jersey and then sitting under the trees in Bremerhaven......

So when I had the next day off I washed it. The whole day. Just the outside.

IMG_20250518_161327_484.jpg

Its probably only been cleaner after rolling off the assembly line. Same for the keys and fobs which also looked like they've been used for 30 years daily by a diesel tech that has never seen soap before. Now they're basically new plus a keychain.

IMG-20250517-WA0004.jpeg

And now its just sitting tucked away until I get the modified tail lights and stamp the VIN on the chassis somewhere if it isn't already. (PS. if anyone knows if the VIN is stamped/etched/engraved/etc. somewhere on the chassis let me know pls)

The only places you'll find the VIN is on the plate stamped on the top of the dashboard right under the bottom edge of the driver's side of the windscreen, and on the driver's side door jamb sticker.
Note also that Ford didn't etch a number on the engine either i.e. no engine number, though a previous owner did have the last six digits of my VIN etched onto the driver's side of the block just above the oil pan.
Finally you'll find the build date of the engine (mine is 18 Nov 2005) printed onto a bar code sticker on the driver's side valve cover, and the build date of the car (mine is 27 Nov 2005) is on the driver's side door jamb sticker.
BTW, your car looks great after a wash!

Alright so I gotta do that.... probably just gonna stamp it on the shock tower unless I'm allowed to do it under the carpet somewhere (like newer cars do).

Weird things is the date on mine is just 10/06 so I'm assuming month/year? No day tho..... BUUUT since I was stupid enough to get the GT/CS Certificate extra I know its 10/10/2006.

The car is actually cleaner than on the pictures in the first post tho. SOMEBODY didn't clean the inside of the wheels and the amount of brake dust that came out was probably enough to get another pad made. Weirdly enough the wheel cleaner I used made some of the balancing weights turn green......

Tomorrow I'll give the inside a proper clean and take some better photos (I forgot after washing) since from what I noticed americans (atleast dealerships and rental services) don't really clean Interiors that thoroughly..... since my work car is cleaner on the inside than the rental was.....

Hi Marcus,
congrats to your new Pony, it´s so exiting, isn´t it. But you must be joking me, right... I register in a forum across the pond and directly meet somebody who´s living just 25km away from me? I think the last two weeks I came at lease two times through or nearby your hometown. Last Saturday I my wife and me took this pic, do you recognise?

I didn't expect it, but honestly I'm not really suprised someone close by is registered here. The world really is small.

I don't recognise the specific plates (mostly since I tuned out noticing the S550s since they're everywhere now...) but I do know the Miesbacher plates and we probably went past each other a few times. Maybe YOU recognise me when I tell you I also have a black 98' Cougar with a Rosenheim plate, since I don't think there's another ANYWHERE near us and the 3V isn't registered yet.

But if your from Föching you probably know the owner of a silver 13' GT also with MB plates in Holzkirchen right?

Aber wenn du Lust und Laune hast kann ich sie dir mal in Person zeigen. Kannst mir mal ja ne PM schicken.

Depends of your TÜV dude, I don't have an additional VIN besides the one under the window.
