Speaks to a few differences
Interesting. Phosphate coating are used to improve cold start lubrication not for thermal protection.

... using the '12-older block.
Thanks for that! But, for 25 large, I'll keep my weenie and enemic Coyote.
I think they do that so no one buys one and it stays mostly vobra jet exclusive
The new '13's run 5W-50!!!
Hmmmmm..........either CURES or MASKS the oil burning of the pre-13's!!!
that would be a kick in the dick...for all us 11-12 owners wouldn't it?So '13GT = Boss 302 motor!!!!

5W20's been used for quite a while...at least as far back as i can remember. my first mustang, an 01 GT used 5/20So was the 5w20 used because of the oil cooling jets?
5-20 is used for CAFE regs....they will never be able to convince me otherwise. Also to go along with this assumption, yet totally unrelated, I recently bought my wife a new 2012 hynduai sonata 2.0 turbo limited. I just did the first oil change and in the manual it says they rec using for proper lubrication a synthetic 5-30, although they note underneath that if you want a little better mpg to use the 5-20. So they are basically saying we want u to use 5-30 but 5-20 will do if your willing to not properly lube the engine in return for better mpg. Basically what ford and every other CAFE inspired oil required car does lol.
