Saturday I took my '05 to Cecil County for the first time on the Stroker Motor. 3.55 gears and Nitto NT05R 285/40/R18 out back. 597 rwhp 540 torque on JPC's dyno on 93 octane. I did 3 runs, first with 15 psi on the radials and a 4000 rpm launch hitting it pretty hard just to break the ice and go for it. The tires were spinning through 1st gear for the duration and I ended up shifting at 4800 to get out of that shit. I missed 3rd gear and still managed 11.75 @122mph with a lame ass 1.823 60 ft.
Second run I dropped the pressure to 14 psi and launched again at maybe 3500 rpm's hitting the clutch a little less aggressively and still the tires spun through 1st even worse and I managed a 11.85 @126.02 mph with a lame as hell 2.073 60 ft.
On the last run I dropped the tire pressure to 12-13 psi and launched at about 3000 rpm's after a super healthy 2nd gear burnout where the tires really heated up good and let out much more smoke. I got an 11.436 @127.75 mph and a still lame ass 1.851 60 ft. It spun hard through 1st, but I let her rip to at least 6000 rpm's hit 2nd cleanly and spun at least 12-15 ft, hit 3rd at 7500 rpm's and clean. I'm crossing the 1320 in 3rd gear at 7500 rpm's. (3.55 gears)
Anyway, these NT05R's are IMO highly recommended for street use as they are very compliant on the highway and super quiet. Traction is great for a car with this power for the street at 32 psi, but on the track, at least with my car's power....they DO NOT cut it. Maybe it's because they are 18's, but I should have been deep into the 10's with the proper meats.
