I didn't know this existed! I removed the OEM obd2 port and snug it behind the dash so that I could connect my X4 and have it on the dash. This will definitely help!

Better yet, buy an extension cable that already has the 90° connector built in. Then run it behind the lower dash under the steering wheel. On my 07 I tuck it and my OBD wireless adapter into the space just behind the knee panel. I have the same one for my F350 and run it to the little mini glove box compartment under the upfitter switches. Hangs down less that a 1/4" and you don't even know it's there.
