Octane / Tune Question

I'm filling out my form to have some tunes written for the car and they ask me to specify "Octane Used (If not specified we automatically tune for 93+ for maximum gains, 91+ in CA)". The car is stock aside from Roush mufflers.

I typically fill with 92 octane but I can get 93/94 octane if warranted. As far as the tune goes, if I specify 92 (vs. 93), how much am I leaving on the table? I'm just trying to determine if an extra XX amount of horsepower is worth going to a different gas station to get the 93 octane (vs. the station where I get a discounted 92 octane).

Thanks.

The difference will be small, but every little bit counts in my eyes. If you have access to 93, I would go with that...

A few horse. Have it tuned for worst case. Would you rather have 5 extra HP or a hole in a piston?

so just get the tune for 91 and run your 92 or 93 sometimes for safety if your concerned.. if the car wants more timing it will add it based on the KS so that would be my opinion

Specify 91. Then you can use anything from 91-93. It gives you a margin of safety. Who cares if you leave 3 hp on the table?
