Guys I appreciate the help but, does anyone read the stuff i posted? I have a hushpower cat back. It replaces from right behind the converters all the way back with 3". The mid pipe that comes with the hushpower is a different length than the original h pipe. So offroad x and h pipes will not fit.

I found them on jegs as well. They have them in aluminized and stainless.

I am undecided now though. JPC has long tubes that run from the heads to right behind the converters, where the hushpower cat back connects. This would solve my problem and elimnate the need for catless downtubes but headers = $900 and catless downtubes = $130 - 250.

Take your cats off and punch the honeycomb out with a pipe. Make sure all pieces are gone, I'd use a leaf blower, or something then you're done. If you're trying to save money just do that.

HE CAN'T RUN A TYPICAL OFF-ROAD MID PIPE BECAUSE OF THE CAT-BACK EXHAUST HE ALREADY HAS INSTALLED

Which is why he's asking specifically about "down pipes".

And he already said he regrets the cat-back he bought because it doesn't allow regular off-road X or H use.

OP, in your shoes I would probably just do the off-road "down pipes" from Jegs. Seems like the 5.0s pick up a ton just from deleting the cats, and it'd be so much easier than installing headers.

Monk36, its not about saving money. Its just hard to justify so much $$ for headers and 25 rwhp when i could spend $150 for the downtubes and 15 rwhp.

Swarzkopf, you definately understand what I have stated. I will probably order them from jegs.

Gotchya. I suppose in your situation, just as you can't justify spending the money in difference on longtubes vs o/r down pipes, I wouldn't be able to justify spending 150 on downtubes when I could just hollow the stock cats out first, just to see if a similar hp gain would be there, then getting the downpipes or not based on those results.

I know what your saying. I would just like to keep the converters laying around just in case they are needed at a later time.
