I guess skinnies don't like to be locked up at 100+ mph. It was only for a couple seconds, maybe not even that. It was at Barona---first time I raced at that track and I thought I had more shut down room. Well, the end came up alot faster then I expected so......

So I replaced the tire, will be heading out to Irwindale tonight. But, as soon as I get a trailer (hopefully in a couple weeks) I will be switching the tires out if I want to drive on the street- to my Saleen wheels and Nittos. It would be just way to easy to screw up these tires again if you had to stop fast.

Does the ABS not work with those tires?

Well, the track wasn't crowded at all tonight, but it was cold. Cold enough were I didn't ice down at all. But the track wasn't that great because of the cold. I did manage two 1.460 60' times though.

Ran a 6.682 @ 101.970 mph with a 1.460 60'
Ran a 6.695 @ 102.090 mph with a 1.460 60'
Ran a 6.781 @ 101.540 mph with a 1.519 60'
Ran a *** @ ***** mph with a **** 60' because the guy lost the time slip
then finished off with a lowly 6.853 @ 101.990 mph---the track was just getting to cold. I think the track wasn't prepping like usual because not that many cars were there.

Drove there and back, no trailer. I have 438 miles on the bogarts now. I watch the road like a hawk looking out for potholes / road debris that can bend the fronts. But, from my pic above, I think they are coming off for daily driver miles---nevermind bending a wheel---if I have to panic stop to avoid an accident or something, I am in deep shit with these fronts.

Oh, DON: you'll appreciate this story. I was lining up against a Scion. The fuktard rolled through the beams and staged with his rear tires. The starter looked at me, and I just waived my hand like "whatever"--he laughed and started us anyway.

Yeah, ABS did not work on the passenger front. Its because I went with Moser axles, and I have to get the ABS "recalibrated". I put the ABS rings on the axles, but it still needs recalibration for some reason.

Yikes, I had that happen with a set of skinnies as well. They don't like stopping or turning.

That scion story is great. haha

HAHA! Great story. Too funny that the starter let him race though. The starters I've seen love to embarrass guy's when they do that!

That's strange I have the Moser axles and my ABS works fine.

I figured Irwindale was going to be bad and that's why I didn't go last night. I really don't think it had anything to do with the cold and 100% to do with the fact that only 18 hours had passed since the track had been rained on for four days straight...lol - they surely weren't prepping for that...:beerdrink:

I didn't want to try and risk hooking up my power at that track last night.

Paul - Ken and I are going here if the weather holds - wanna go?

Definitely strange... where is your line lock solenoid, Paul?

Well, I am assuming its the moser axles because before I installed the axles, my ABS was working perfectly. Then I installed the axles with the ABS rings that were on my stock axles, and the ABS light will sometimes come on. Not all the time, but sometimes.

Maybe I damaged one of the sensors perhaps?? Not really sure.
