Hmmm... undecided. Not a fan of FIA stripes on street cars because they don't serve a purpose. But I really like how your car looks. Maybe it's the rest of it, the yellow with the black rims, etc. Trying to imagine it without the stripes.

Aren't the fender marks more of a Dodge thing?

I've seen them a lot on Chargers and Challengers (the new body styles) ...

As of lately, but I thought that it was a Vette thing prior to that (Grand Sport)

They are FIA stripes, used to differentiate cars during racing. The first car I'm aware of that had fender stripes during FIA sanctioned races were AC Cobras. Other sports cars (including Corvettes and Mustangs) would later use the stripes to help differentiate them as well.

Good to know. I personally like the look of them on S197's but didn't get em because of the vette crowd. Just assumed it was their thing.

Well, the last 20 years or so I think only the Corvette Grand Sport had the fender hash marks from the factory. Sort of a nod to the Grand Sport's racing heritage. You can thank the Shelby folks who originated the fender hash marks on the AC Cobra, but it was done out of necessity, not to be cool. They had to have some way to differentiate identical Cobras from the same team during FIA (Federation Internationale De L'Automobile) races. Fender hash marks were a quick and easy fix.

that is some great info. i always thought it was a vette thing. then i started seeing them on other cars but i had no idea about the FIA origins.

im guessing im gonna leave them on cause the wife actually liked them.
i let her take it out about an hour ago and she came back saying i dont know what you did but it feels faster. thats when i explained the CAI and tuner to her.

I think it looks OK. It has t be done on a specific color car though. Not all cars show the stripes well!

I think u should move them forward a little bit

i looked at that too. i got on google and typed in mustang fender hash marks and the images were all over the place as far as placement. i did think about taking the one closest to the door off and then put one in front of the other.
