Ok this first paragraph will not be tech. I currently owe 22k on my 2013.. I am thinking about taking out a loan for 5k to purchase the beefcake special. I am considering a loan so that I wont empty my savings account, and because my credit union offers awesome financing. My view on this is if something happens I feel like I could easily sell the car and pay off both loans.

Now to the techish part. I have yet to discuss the final prices with beef, nor have I shopped around very much, but I see the tuner kit cost 4300 and the Beef special is 5600.. So from the look of it you are paying 1300 for a boost a pump, injectors, and extra pulley. Wouldnt it be cheaper to buy these three things else where and go with the tuner kit. Do I need the extra pulley or will the 3.8 get me to my goal?

I would love to have the things necessary to go bigger if I ever get the urge.

My goal is 500-550rwhp. This is a DD at the moment but I am considering purchasing a cash car. Being that it is a DD reliability is fairly important to me.

just throw on the on...you dont need injectors until you hit 575+ i think?? ask around; stock pulley will get you to your goal. Not sure about the fuel pump....and my advice...never finance boost...if you get a bad tune and blow your engine..you need to finance to replace your engine if anything i believe

You want opinions i'll give you one.

You want to spend $5k on mods which you can't afford to pay for cash. You are talking about taking out a loan to do so becasue if you were to pay cash it would clean you out. Not only that you are also talking about buying a second car too???

Your priorities are fuct and obviously your finances are too. Sorry buddy. You need a reality check. Stop modding and start padding your bank account.

I appreciate the opinion although you shouldn't judge ones finances so broadly. I should have mentioned that I have two savings accounts. One that 15% of my check goes into every week that I do not touch for anything, and have no intentions to unless there are absolutely no other options.

This account is with a different bank, and I don't carry a debit card or checks for it. To get the money out I would have to go in to this bank....

The other savings is linked with my everyday checking account. I transfer 2-300 a week over just to help save for things I feel like purchasing. I cleaned it out about 6 months ago for a special gift for a special someone if you know what I mean..

Take it form someone that was in your shoes several years ago! I too had a good savings but bought several things on credit thinking if any thing goes bad I will go to my savings. Well things went bad, lost a great paying job. I drained the savings trying not to lose the house and cars and all the other stuff I got in debt with. Took me several years to recover and pay everything off. Now if I can't pay for it in cash then I wait till I can. It's a great feeling being 100% debt free and I will never finance shit again. Funny thing now my credit score is in the 800's for the first time and all I have is an emergency credit card for 10k that has a 0 balance! lol

And as far as the tech question. If you goal is 500 to 550 I would go with the Roush tuner kit and a Lund tune. The TVS is a tq monster and loads of neck bracking fun!! Just my .02

Roush TVs is also 1500+ more dollars. Op don't finance. Cash or don't buy! Also the stock pulley will get you where you want to be as far as power wise. The 47's that come with a full kit will sustain the power you are looking for. The paxton kit is great one hint of advice replace all hose clamps with something better the ones in the kit suck, and like in my case have a very slow coolant drip due to not being able to tighten them down tight before they either strip or break

when i pull a loan (like barrowing against my 401k) or whatever i make sure i have an option to pay it off immediately for example tax season. i never pull a loan beyond 1/4 of what i make a year or something that costs more than 4 months of savings. it's all about earned income vs. debt ratio. never bite off more then you can chew

i know some will disagree and most in this thread already have seem to, but if you pull a responsable amount that you know you can afford to pay off in lets say a year then i see no reason why not.

why didnt you pay cash for the car. If you dont have the funds dont buy a car. Financing with good credit is a bad idea and everyone is right. Dont get a loan for anything. Especially a house
