quick question what is the general consensus on swapping brake pads to a friendly street pad after track days while using the same rotors?

i have ht10's for track and want to switch to the HPS for the upcoming summer where we do not run cause of the extreme heat in south Texas.

can you lightly sand the rotors or can you just replace them with out any adverse affect once i go back to the ht10 or future 60's?

I do this with Carbotech pads. They recommend it for anyone with our needs, but they're adamant about not switching compound suppliers. At least for them, if you run their track pads, you're good to switch to their street-friendly pads, but going to Hawk or some other supplier is not recommended.

I suspect (but don't know) that the same applies for the other brands, and this isn't just to keep the money in-house. Others want to chime in?

Best,

Just switch the pads, bedding in is not exactly a complex process, if you need to do it.

I have switched back and forth from my OEM pads to my Hawk Blues several times with no issues. Those Hawk pads are so abrasive they pretty much grind off anything that may be on there anyway.
