Plasti-dipped my wheels. :) If you decide to do this... make sure you spray a THICK coat on or else it'll be a PITA to peel off after a few months...

Has anyone done it to wheels that have bolts all the way around the wheels by the spokes? Just wondered how hard it would be to get the plastidip to cover all of those as well and how difficult it would be to peel off of them.

You can apply multiple coats. In fact, it's preferable to one extra thick coat IMO. If you have areas where it is too thin to peel it off easily then you can just add another coat and build it up a little. Then after it's dry you can peel it all off.

If you guys are doing this to to rims that you use on a regular basis, I would strongly recommend rebalancing them. You will be adding several ounces of liquid weight to a wheel setup that usually only takes an ounce or so to balance. This advice comes from someone with 5 years of tire changing/balancing experience. On another note, nice job OP!

I'm working on a set of 2010 GT five spokes right now and had already sanded one for paint before i stumbled upon this stuff, now that wheel looks a tiny bit flatter than the others, other than that I'm very pleased with the results. Has anyone sprayed this with tires off? I'm afraid its going to rub off when i go to mount tires, but I guess I can just touch it up if necessary.

I love this stuff. It's also okay to put on your car. I did this to test out and mockup various stripe designs.. peels right off, no problems! I also sprayed my wheels, didn't tape off the tires though. I just peeled it off afterwards.

From looking at Chutoyys other thread, he used the clear plastidip to make his car the matte blue color

I plasti-dipped mine and then shot a coat of Satin Black on them as that is how I was going to powder coat them. All kinds of things you can do with them.

Then when you peel off the plastidip the paint just comes off with the plastidip? That's awesome

Plasti dip has become my "new primer" simply because the prep work on a piece is simply make sure it's clean.......instead of scuffing it up.
