Pony Wars May 12th Valdosta/Adel, GA

Hey everybody I am just trying to get the word out about Pony Wars May 12th weekend in Valdosta/Adel, GA. I went to the past one and it was a blast. There is usually a sponsor hotel that provides discounts. Last year a pre-party and dinner was held Friday night. On Saturday there was a tour of the Steeda/LSR factory in Valdosta then followed by a police escorted cruise to the track South Georgia Motorsports Park in Adel. Let me say that the cruise alone was worth the trip, as they said its not your grandpa's Sunday afternoon drive. Then drag racing all Saturday against American Muscle followed by a hand drop competition for the fastest cars of multiple time groups. Anyways I am trying to get the word out early this time because last year the Mustang turn-out was less than stellar. Mostly 5th gen Camaros with a couple Challengers, and a handful of Mustangs. Its an event that is open to all American breeds. Hope to see you guys there! More info hopefully soon. I am not a sponsor or anything so I am just passing along what I hear.

Update:
Hey guys a update on some events for the weekend. There is a pre-party at Austin's Cattle company Steakhouse at 6:30 for dinner and door prizes. Friday night I believe. We have room for 100 folks, so it will be first come first served (literally!!).

Also the police escorted cruise will be leaving from the hotel this year at about 8:30 am. I will be collecting $5-10 from each car to cover the cost of the cruise since it is not being sponsored this year. The amount I need will depend on the number of cars participating (I have to pay per deputy.)

I myself will be rolling over there on the 11th an getting a room for the night. I am in Columbus Georgia if anyone else wants to cruise over there. The last one was a Camaro fest. Stangs lets represent at this one.

Yeah I am from Macon so I will be getting a hotel as well. Last year I think the camaro5 guys had a sponsor hotel for a cheaper price. If I find out I will post it up.

Hey guys for some of you coming that need a hotel. The camaro5 forum guys have got a host hotel with discounted rates. They said it would be ok to pass this info along. I was there last year with them and they are a good group of car guys regardless of the brand.

I used to live in Valdosta, and have raced there several times. Great venue! I might just have to make the trip down for this one. I'll be cruising from Douglasville, i-20 to 75 south. Convoy anyone?

Well I will only be making the trip from Forsyth on 75 down. You should definitely come. You should try and make the Saturday morning drive to the track with police escort it is awesome! The hotel was packed with about 40 some cars last pony wars so it was fun a well.

Im stationed here in Valdosta. If anyone is interested in staying at the hotel on base for 39$ a night(nice rooms btw) then I have no problem signing those onto base that needs a pass. Its only about a 25 minute or so ride to the track from there.
