Then, a little here and there:

A Danelectro RI, a Martin CEO-4 LE (the flagship of the collection), and a Gibson Les Paul Classic.

The amps!

A '59 Bassman RI (one of the early ones). An early 60's Gibson GA-30 Invader (restored, by me, my only true "vintage" hardware), and Pro Junior.

Oooh, I love the Bassman. The modeled version of this amp just doesn't cut it on my Vox Valvetronix....

Past life...before I was married and had kids, I had really bad GAS. Dabbled on eBay a bit in the early days of eBay. Had a lot of guitars come and go, mainly Fender Custom Shop stuff, because I knew enough about those not to get ripped off, and people pay big $$$ for that stuff.

I made some mistakes too (my first two buys put me in the hole quick), but then I got married (two of those guitars actually belong to her), and had kids. Not enough time in the day to keep up with it, and I couldn't really play with my money anymore, so I hung it up about five years ago.

Since my wife also plays, one of the first things I was "allowed" to do moving into our first new house together was dedicate an entire room to the collection. We moved out to the boonies and there is no guitar store for dozens of miles. Any guy with GAS loves going to the guitar store, so I basically recreated that and I get to walk through that room into the house from the garage every night. Well, after tripping over two baby strollers and a bulging laundry hamper in the middle of the room anyway...

The only two guitars I wish I could've picked up then when I had the chance was a Reissue TV Yellow Les Paul Junior and Reissue Gibson Explorer in natural...and maybe an SG...and a 335, and a Ric...would love to have a Boogie amp too...

Speaking of GAS issues:
http://www.guitaracquisitionsyndrome.com/Electric_GAS_Gallery.php

Funny quote:
The Ball, manufactured by Dickerson, is completely covered in MOT (mother of toliet aka pearloid)

I am apparently immune to GAS, even though I do have 7 guitars (3 electric, 2 acoustic, 1 travel and 1 bass), I don't/didn't buy them for their own sake, if they don't have a purpose (genre, recording, specialized sound/tuning), I don't need them/buy them...

2 of my guitars are pretty much junk (as in, not pleasant to play, falling apart, potential hazards to the unprepared), but I cannot get rid of them for sentimental reasons (they used to be pleasant to play at some point)...

So, I guess I have GHS (Guitar Hoarder Syndrome)...

I do want 2 more guitars and then I am set until something breaks - 6 and 12 string acoustics... Santa? Santa? Are you listening?

Nope...t'wasn't me...almost had a chance to get 620/12 back in the mid 90's but at the time I didn't have a clue and it seemed like he wanted too much for it. The bass player in my college band picked up a vintage 4001 in the paper dirt cheap around the same time, so I was jones'n. I still hadn't purchased my first real Strat, the '62 RI. I was still dorking around on the Squier II.

Thanks. The reason I asked was because I listed the 350v63 for a firm price/no trades but I keep getting people trying to low-ball me with downright silly answers or this one guy in particular that wants to trade an Ash/maple Tele & Bassman. He keeps telling me how much easier it would be for me to trade with him and then sell the Tele/Bassman for cash. I guess it didn't occur to him to sell them himself and then he would have the cash to by the Ric. Oh well, musicians are flakes.

Oh yeah - cekim's favorite riddle...

What do you say to a bassist standing at your front door? "How much for the pizza?".

That joke works for any musician - don't be hate'n on the folks in the lower clef...

In the Engineering industry, we've been joking about training for our next job by saying "may a take your order please?" since the bubble popped in 2000.

I think that was a rib, also...maybe? Just for good measures...:321:
Oh, I know, I was just standing up for the high-frequency impaired - or is it harmonic-enabled?

In this arena, I swing both ways (hmmm, that didn't come out right...) That is I read treble and bass clef...

Guitarists hating on bassist are just jealous because they have wimpy fingers comparatively... They get flummoxed if the action is 1/32nd of an inch too high... :roflmao:
