I'd be interested in the pricing for powder coating my throttle body in Ford Blue...

Shoot me a price and timing to do the job...

No hurry because here in Chicago, the winter is setting in fast so the car will not see daylight for about 4 months...

Dave

We have a throttle body we'll be doing for my car (test piece). After that, my core will be available discofan!

Dave,

They look great! Thank you again for all the good words. Like disco was asking, I think the throttle body is going look nice and compliment the valve covers very nicely if you looking to powder coat other things :)

Just an FYI, the throttlebodies will come out fine. Just make sure it gets reassembled properly. It will set some codes if not put back just right. The bearings last through the cure no problem.

+1 on the throttle bodies coming out just fine. Fallen did mine and it is back on the car and working great. I was the guinea pig for this and am glad I did it.

Our main thing has been valve covers, and were moving into throttle body's. However pretty much any metal that can fit in a conventional oven will work.

I google your truck and it appears your valve covers our cursed like the s197 valve cover...Ugly LOL

Hey semi related question...

Are there any black powdercoatings that can hold up to flames and 500+ deg heat? I was thinking of powdercoating my grill plates (as in my gas grill) since they always get surface rust over the winter.

There are coatings that can last in that environment, problem is you have to find one thats safe for contact with food

Im talking about a gas grill outside. With burner flames an inch away, and sometimes coming up through. I can get that grill up to 500 with all the burners on and lid closed.

They have quite a few different high temp powders that would easily handle those temps. However neither of them are FDA rated to be used with food. There is one FDA approved powder that I found but does not specify the temp that it can handle.

I would think the only reliable coating for something like that is going to be porcelain. I wouldn't trust powder to hold up to that since the direct heat is going to be probably over 1000 degrees.
