I just got my procharger installed with the 10# pulley and the add a pump with a boost a pump.

It's currently on a BBR tune they sent me. Could it be the tune is that off that the car is running really lean above 5,000 RPMS?

They said at 5,000 RPMS where they noticed it go lean the car surged a little bit. Could this be a fuel issue?

I'm debating on where to take the car for a custom tune.. maybe JPC or Excessive.

You can do mail order tunes which can be customized to your exact car modifications. Eric Brooks from modularfords, Tony with HP tuning and Adam Montague with ST Motorsports can all do email type tunes for you.

It takes a detailed list of the parts on your car, an explanation of the issue you have (running lean for the OP) and a data log. It generally takes a few weeks from start to finish but it's well worth it.

What the tuner can't do over the internet is tune for maximum performance, unless you have the car on a dyno and email data logs back and forth. For those of us who only trust a few with our cars that don't have local people capable of tuning, this is what we resort to.

Talk to someone known on the forums or the S197 tuning world to get someone experienced withour cars. Not the new edge, or the cobras or GM or anything else. Our cars specifically. They will get any issues you have with tuning straighten out.

I am not familiar with the fuel system procharger provides (I bought a tuner kit and use a GT-500 pump and 60# FRPP injectors), but from what I have seen people saying is that they start to see fuel issues around 460-470. Injectors may be maxed out, or the pump just can't send enough fuel. A data log from any of the tuners simon listed, my choice would be Eric Brooks, would help see what is causing the leaning out.

I believe Kaldar got his procharged car tuned at Excessive, you may want to contact him about his experience. I have only heard good things about JPC and Excessive.

I had the same issue pop up on me last week. I installed a P1-SC-1 on my GT over Christmas. Got it dyno tuned at Pro-Dyno in Rockhill, SC for four hours. Maxxed out at 433 rwhp because it kept going lean around 5,500 rpm. Dan had to get off of it like 4 or 5 times that day because it kept dipping into the low 10's. The injectors were fine. The pumps weren't sending enough fuel despite his MAF curve looking like a climb up Everest at the last four or five tune points.

Theory is (not yet tested because it's frickin too cold to work outside) that either the additional fuel pump has:

1) a bad connection (maybe the heat shrink, soldier came undone) - unlikely.
2) a bad pump that just doesn't work - again, unlikely.
3) I accidentally sliced those plastic fuel tubes while putting that #&$^ pump back into the tank - likely.

I plan to pull it out and do a continuity test on the circuit and pump. Then I plan to look at all the hoses with a fine toothed comb. My bet is that I will be ordering the fuel pump hose installation kit from Brenspeed to replace a sliced hose.

Not sure if that was a typo but if the AFR was dropping into the 10's then your tune was rich not lean.

Good catch. Eating and typing... it went rich and then finished lean. Here's the sheet:

I hope that's not the issue. I'ma be pissed if I pay for a tuning session and then have to go back and pay for another because my pump is fucked.

i had the same issue as well. At 477whp, i was maxed out on my supplied 39# injectors and my fuel pump was getting worked hard as well. added a BAP and now making 498whp but still leans out a little bit over 6000rpms. The best bet would be to drop that shitty dual pump setup from procharger and get you the GT500 fuel pumps as well as some bigger injectors.

thats my next step, it's just too cold for my money tree to start sprouting benji's anytime soon.

I had an issue with my mail order tune on one of my cars running lean. I went and had it done on a dyno and it cured everything made 509 rwhp. All I could think was maybe elevation change.

I thought my fuel system would be more then enough for 10lbs of boost and maybe 475rwhp unless its making much more?

Actually I lived in Florida at the time. I am sorry but don't know any tuners up here myself but heard that Pro-Dyno is really good at doing tunes. That's who I'm gonna try next time I need one done.
