I know its for emissions but no idea what it does besides making it hard to put fuel in my gas tank.

as best as it was explained to me it traps fumes from your fuel tank and prevents them from getting out, at a later time it puts it into the line to be burned or something like that. bottom line its retarded

When I removed it, yes, there was a line that went all the way up to the engine bay and it connected to that thingy by the drivers side shock tower.

As I will be going with a fuel cell, huge fuel pump and filter, and #10 line all the way up to the dominator, the evap wasn't needed at all of course.

I was surprised on how SMALL the fuel line was going all the way up the drivers side. Its amazing how much rwhp that little line can support with the right amount of pressure.

Correct. It's 100% emissions crap. The EPA does not want gas tank fumes to vent to atmosphere, so the fumes are routed to the EVAP system which contains a charcoal filtrations system to turn as much as the vapor it can back into a liquid, which then is drained back into your tank when the EVAP system cycles. The remaining vapor is also burned in the engine during a specified drive cycle.

So what needs to be done to remove it, but keep the car streetable? Does anything need to be plugged/sealed, etc.? I'm looking to shave weight, and this seems like a good candidate.

Hey Don, if I am not mistaken there is a DIY tech article on it....

More parts coming in. Here is what the intake looks like. Got it for a great deal.

Fuel pump, filter, and fuel cell should be here in a couple days.

Well, I wouldn't say "rapidly" Perhaps on schedule for late summer being finished, I would buy that.....

By the way, I talked to Currie. 800 ft-lbs of torque, the 8.8 COULD work. Then I told them I might spray on top of that and they said no fuckin way, get the 9 inch. So the 8.8 is yours. PM me your shipping address.

Funny, Chris at Currie told me that they have never seen an 8.8 center section break at even 2000 hp?? With the 9" ends and a 35+ spline axles & spool, they said the only thing in danger was the ring and pinion and that is cheap and easy to replace?

Yeah, I talked to Darrell. So the answer you get depends on who you talk to I guess.

Yeah, its not the 35 spline axle, its the ring gear that is the potential weak point, everyone agrees on that. I did tell them though that I don't want anything to be breaking. I only have enough money to do this once.

PM sent. Thanks!! And it does seem to be coming along pretty quick, but then again, I often end up working 16 hour days.
