I took the car down to Ken3030s shop to get the front aligned. When I put the manual rack on, I just eyeballed it, but the alignment machine showed it was a 1/4 inch off in the toe. Tested the transbrake, worked good. For a while I thought I did not have reverse, then I realized I need to hold down the transbrake button when in reverse to go reverse, as the button engages reverse. Duh.

Problem with the ignition box though, I am going to get a new one from MSD, I will be at the track next Thursday. There is a private track day this weekend at CA Speedway but I won't have the new ignition box by then.

Its good that I am finding all of these little things now though, vs at the track. I don't want to take it to the track until its absolutely ready.

Let's see this thing run. You will always be able to find one more thing that "needs" to be done before you run it. ;)

Did a couple test passes at Irwindale just to make sure I put together everything properly and have no mechanical issues. The car didn't have one leak or issue. I will be back next week for some ETs. This is a completely new combo for me so I need to practice. Of the numerous things I did wrong, here is one example: With the 5R55S and the steep 3.22 first gear, I am used to shifting to second as soon as you come out of the hole. Well, I did that twice, I shifted into 2nd (with a powerglide) as soon as the car left. Ugh, I have to forget what I learned with the old set up and get used to this one.

1st gear lasts a little longer than that with the 'glide, lol. I often find myself wanting to shift early.

Here is the video. You know I always get video, even of the crappy as passes where the driver engages the trans-brake twice. Yep. Anyway at least the engine sounded good.

On the second pass, I let go of the transbrake at 3000, broke the beams so the clock started, then (don't ask me why or how) I hit the transbrake again, then left again. Then I shifted into 2nd at the 60' mark with a glide. Yeah. I should be shifting at around 330' with the glide. Then I got out of it at around 500 feet---ran a 7.23 with a 2.1 60' hahahahaha.

Anyway I was really nervous with all the stuff I did with the car, and just happy the car itself worked perfectly. Next week will be a lot better.

what was I hearing as the car pulled to the staging lines - fuel pumps or fans?

Sorry if this is a stupid question as I don't drag much, but with slicks and skinnes is it a good idea to roll the front through the water box?

Back on topic this is one badass mustang man I've been following for a while glad to see it's going to be a beast on the track
Would love to see you and stkjock run

Paul, sick man!! Car sounds real good!!

You should see the guys around here that put a brake in their car for the first time. They stage, hit the brake, let go of it, and let off because it scared the shit out of them!!
