dealershrimps are awesome. It's lucky it was 1 quart every 120 miles, if they had managed 500 you'd have been told it was "normal" and sent on your way, another Ford lemon.

Actually the manual states the 1000 miles is normal, 500 is not, and Ford considers that to be guarded and to continue to watch. They have not approved many engine replacment at 1 qt / 500, they should because some have popped around there at the track. once I noticed the oil issue I did not track the car.

and I am breaking this one in the right way.
Drive it like you stole it which is how I would! Always been told to break in a car like you are going to drive it normally.
At Road America last year there was a gentleman there running a GT350 that still had the transfer tag in the window.

FWIW I have 17 GT350 as well. I bought used. It's at 12500 miles. I am not seeing oil consumption issues. I think the combination of hard plated cylinders (no sleeves) with forged pistons, and unknowing dealers/buyers not following the break in procedure, and/or not letting the engine warm up a little causes ring sealing issues.

when I rebuilt my engine I treated it to some BOOST to the REV LIMITER on the first drive. That will get those parts bedded in right proper!

I waited until 1000 miles before going over 4500 Rpm (8200 is the red-line). It pulls hard to 8000 Rpm. No oil use but bought some just in case I need to top it off.Voodoo3a.JPG
