If you buy a SCT x3 w/ tune can it be shared with someone else?

I've only used a Diablo tuner, but i'm pretty sure that all tuners are locked to one vehicle. Basically if you want to use it on another car you have to upload that stock tune again.

You may also want to try using the search feature in the future.

I believe the Sniper tuning system can be used for 2 cars.

SCT is locked to a specific vehicle you cannot use it on more than one at a time

in theory if you got the email tune sent to you via the net and had someone with the same strategy code and mods, you could both use that tune but each would have to have your own handheld

Not entirely true..

The older .ll3 tune files could be used on multiple tuning devices. The new .cef files are device S/N specific and can not be used on a tuner (device) which does not have a matching S/N

According to Matt @ BamaChips, this new .cef format is something SCT recently released. I'm sure any new tuning file you receive from your tuner will be in .cef format. You will be required to supply your device S/N to your tuner and the tune will be specific to your device and only your device. This prevents file sharing between devices. WES@TPS mentioned "The other benefit of the CEF is the ability to support some of the newer vehicle platforms in the exported files".

you can still buy a used tuner but the tunes are useless and the tunes at bama chips are 50 bucks you can beg on the street and get that or ask obama

Im leaning more towards Brenspeed. I have heard their tunes for the Bullitts are very good but I'm doing more research.

they are both going to be almost the same there is not to much you can do with just simple mods it will come down to personal preference, price and what ppl you trust have. in the end both will be great i just throw bama around because that is what i have and every one i know has one and they have all been great

Bama seems to have a better auto tune then most from all the things I've read
