If my replacement fuel pump gets here today/tomorrow and IF it solves my fuel pressure issues, I would like to hit the track this Sunday. My question: do you think the track personnel will have a problem with the 15"x18" hole in the center of my hood?

Maybe....maybe not. Depends on the inspector. You will probably not have a problem with a hole in the hood since you do not have a carburetor. The ruling for hood or scoop covering is directed towards carb-equipped cars.

So... how are you planning in fixing the hole? Trimming the shaker or getting a new hood???

I heard he's getting one of these to cover the hole.

I'm going to try and fit the shaker back on after I put in the shaved motor mounts. However, I'm not ready to do that yet. I'm going to start gathering some lighter front end components and I need tie rods, then do it all at the same time. There is no way the shaker will fit as it sits now.

LOL, the Mad Max in me was actually looking at that type of option.

Right now, I have another choice to make for SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!

I did put the stock mufflers back on the car. SLEEPAH! (except for the hole in the hood)

I'm off to the track - wish me luck. Last night, a couple of little birdies told me there were guys that were going to be "looking" for me today, wanting to race. Bring it on!
