i have heard of problems with the old greg weld wheels breaking lug nuts. if that is true i hope that they fixed this problem. but i would love a set of 17 in the front and 15X10 in the rear.

you guys need to all get the 17in fronts, they look great

the lug issue was addressed, as well as caliper clearance on the fronts.

they took a decent wheel and made it better, hopefully they can stay on top of things

I talked to them today. It's funny when I punched in the phone # my phone I already had it saved as Greg Weld lol when I talked to him he told me the 2 guys who are race star wheels were the same guy I talked to from greg welds when I worked with them when they first came out. He told me they reworked over 40% of the wheel and they now have no problem clearing the mustang brakes I will be buying a set this winter ;)

Hahaha same here ( mike ) he's a real good guy I have been on and off bs'n with him since way back when before the buyout and had just gave up not long before the shit was finalized go figure lol . I was told they do have all our sizes in stock as of now but they are running out really really quick as soon as some shit goes bye bye I will have a set coming my way . I am tempted to roll these everyday . I just wish they would have gotten rid of that dual lug pattern crap it sucks ass .

Just to clarify. We put a set on our 2010 project car. 15 x 8 fit as a direct bolt-on on modification required. 15 x 10 you need to relocate rear swaybar other than that they fit and look great. We are now a stocking dealer for Race Star Industries.

have you seen the 10's on the car and with what tire?and can you post a pic. of the silver car from the side.because to me if the rim is even and the tire is wider your going to have a problem.look at my back tire and see how far the fender comes down on the tire, so if the tire sticks out the fender is going to rub the tire when I launch.

Can you drive around on the Street with the Race Stars and the
M/T 275/60/15 Rear & 26/45/15 Fronts ???

I am referring to driving "Thousands" of miles with them.

Example, Driving from one Coast to the other .........

I have read where "Some" members have driven with the "Bogarts" as
DD's and others say, Don't do that, Period.

I was driving on Bogarts for my daily for well over a year and I was driving 160 miles per day for work at the time. Just don't aim for pot holes.

John,
I Appreciate your input on the Bogarts.
I'm not sure it was here on S197 or another Site but some people were
like you driving with the Bogarts all the time.
And the comment was made that as long as you did not drive into
Pot-Holes at Speeds, No-Worries.

Maybe some other members will comment.........

Terry - the wheels would be fine IMHO, the issue I see is that driving bias ply slicks on the street and highway could get a bit uncomfortable. Also a 15 x 3.75 front skinny will not do much for turning if you needed to in a hurry.

IMHO - if your want to run a set up like that for a lot of miles, get a wider front rim. They do make a 15 x 7 that you could put a very street friendly tire on. In fact Racestar says the 15 x 3.75 is not intended for street use.

Thank-You Sir.

Just trying to get my game plan down.
Going to have to do some more thinking on this.

Yes, you can.
Thanks,

Decision time is coming up this coming week that is why I posted the question.

Looks like there are Bias Ply Tires from M/T and then the,
ET Street Radial (Polyester Ply/Steel Belted, Black Tubeless) Tires
D.O.T. Approved, Street Legal.

I'm going to be back at the Speed Shop I use and they just received in
the Race Stars. So, just seeing if I was thinking "Correct" on running them
as a DD (Daily Driver).
As well as driving with them to other States.
I'm not really all that concerned about mileage (Wearing Them Out)
as I am the Safety Factor.

I fully intend on running the race star rims on the street full time. I will run the 15 x 5's on the front and the 15 x 10's on the back. I am getting two sets of 15 x 10's though, I already have one set. One will be for the 325 Mickey Thompson DR's and the other will be for some street tires. The 15 x 5's will have street tires on them all the time.

Now you guys have me thinking about getting a set of these for the street. :fu:

I'd love to run around on 15s everyday, but I want to save my Bogarts for the track only.
