i run the gt500/boss diff cover and i have zero venting issues. the relocated space for the spring vent really helps to vent off excess pressure.
while we're bumping it up:
Any idea on the part number for the boss breather? Not the cover, just the breather that goes into it.
or the thread pitch?
UPDATE on my low budget vent (posted earlier).
I've run my vent for a couple of events now, mostly with satisfactory results. One thing however is that my hose ran a bit too close to the exhaust and has started to show signs of heat damage. I thought I had adequate clearance, but apparently not enough.
I'll see if I can get a pic today, but in general this is a plug (hah!) for the top of the diff cover as a better place to run your hose, that is, if it's available.

Good eye, yes it is. Just be sure not to thread the fitting in to far. You want the hole with the fitting to be the lowest point so the oil drains back to the axle.
Any issues with that 90* fitting smacking on your over-axle pipe over bumps?
