1F2038F9-4059-4D96-BD73-31DEA80FDA1F.jpeg I am new to this forum, this is the first mustang I have owned ‘10, but I have been had Fords my whole life. My bumper cover is separating from the car like the tabs are broken idk if there is a way to fix it or if I just have to get a new one, one of my friends that worked at a ford dealer said it was caused by airflow, I did back up on a curb literally the day I went to get a tag for the car like a moron. Just curious if anyone else has experience with this issue

I think there is a guide pin/plastic rivot thing from the bumper to the body of the car accessible from behind the plastic trim inside the trunk. I had a similar issue and found a nut that would thread onto the pin - that helped to pull the bumped up a bit.

I replaced mine last year after a hit and run at a stop light. I don't know what MrAwesome is referring to. Your's looks like it just popped out of place.

I’m not sure either but I’ll have to lookin into that for sure, it has 1 or 2 of those clips broken on the bumper cover, it was popping out and I would just knock it back in, but I tried yesterday and it wouldn’t pop back.

Those plastic seams have little tabs (as you see/know) that must catch to hold. If enough tabs are still good, it should pop & hold, but you have to get the cover loose in other areas to manipulate. Take a good look at where these parts are secured & find the bumper cover screws/tabs. Remove them on bottom & then pop it into place...you might end up taking the entire cover off...

If too many tabs are broken, go to a salvage yard & find a replacement (same color, hopefully), or time to add a sweet rear ground effects to your ride. Good luck!

I was thinking I might have to do something like that, (taking the whole thing loose and readjusting) I had ACL reconstruction surgery 3 weeks ago so I’m not able to ATM probably be a few more weeks when I do and I’ll post an updated photo, try and see what all I have to do to make it look a little better if I’m able to, thanks.

Been there/done that (ACL procedure). Listen to the Docs, don't over-strain the knee & Physical Therapy is your friend. Get well!
