Graypny started a thread on this a couple of months ago. I posted a car and driver article where they did wet and dry tire testing with rankings of around 10 different tires. It's a place to start from at least. :)

C&D did an article about drag radials? Really? I'll bet the wet testing wasn't so good. hahah

To the OP: M&H and M/T are both proven performers. Can't go wrong there. Avoid the Nitto 555R (but the new NT05s might be better). And I'd be tempted to try the new Goodyears, too.

LOL, I just looked at the title that said RADIALS. I didn't pay attention to the M&H brand which would have clued me in on he wanting DRs.

I have aset of MT 295/55/15's coming that should be here next week. I am putting them on the racestar 15x10's.

I will be running the MT sportsman radial on the front, on the 15x3.75's. I have that tire in hand and will get them mounted on the rims next week.

275/60-15 from M&H, Mickey Thompson, Goodyear, or Hoosier.

why a 275/60 vs the 325/50 from M&H?

I'm thinking of getting this set up as well and am unsure what rear tires to go with.

Kind of a "generalization" on tire selection. M&H is an anomoly. Their tires actually run more narrow than anybody else's stuff. The majority of 325/50 tires stick out of the car so they look like shit and sometimes just don't work right. I've got the 325/45-17 M/H tires on my car with a 9.5" wheel and it looks like a 275/60-15 on an 8" wheel. You can't tell there's a D/R on the car from a casual glance. The 325/50-15 M&H will look a lot like that too. The 295/55-15 from M/T is pretty much "in the middle" of those two choices as far as fitting under the car and working properly.

Any of the three will work but for a screw blower car I'd get as much tire as possible on the ground without it hanging out from the side.

I was under the impression that M&H has changed their sizing over the past year. Like you, I have an older set of 325/45-17s on 17x9 wheels(for the street). I think their current sizing is more realistic.

The "new" M&H 275/50-17 has a tread width of 9.5" and a section width of 10.5", which is about what the old 325s were. The new 325/45s are 11.3" tread and 12.6" section. I personally wouldn't put that on a 17x9.

As far as their 15s go, the 275/60 is 9.5" tread and 10.9" section... an 8" or 9" wheel should be fine. The 325/50 is 11.0" and 12.4". That would probably be good on a 15x10 wheel.

Thanks for the response. I guess with a centri set up one can use less tire, I guess I'll have to decide between a 275/60 or 295/55
