Ok guys, I'm fairly certain I'm posting this in the right location but if it isn't please forgive me and move it.

A while back I was looking to purchase a seat track extender from CJ Parts.

http://www.cjponyparts.com/seat-track-extender-kit-2005-2013/p/STE2/

I read somewhere, I can't remember where exactly, that this doesn't work with the Recaro seats. I'm 6'8" with a 38" inseam. I can drive the car now fairly comfortably but the factory Recaros definitely take away from the leg room as compared to the regular seats. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to move the seat back a few inches? I'd like to feel a bit more normal like everyone else when I drive. I could always go the custom bracket mount but wanted to check first if there was an easier way to do this, possibly a plug and play setup.

Thanks,

Wile C.

Can't be done. You are gonna have to get rid of the Recaros. I have a nice new set of regular seats that will suit your needs. I'll even trade you straight up, since I am feeling generous today.

GTFO TROLL!!!!

J/K but I'm not going to get rid of these seats. They feel so comfy other than the leg room loss.

Why won't the extenders work? The basic structure/frame of the Recaros is nearly identical to the regular seats. People are swapping the power tracks over to them without a problem, so I don't see why you can't use the extenders as well.

I don't think there is any way around grinding. The L brackets must be removed from the front of the stock seat bracket, and they are attached with big rivets. I used a big piece of canvas that I had in the garage and wrapped the whole seat, just leaving the front tip of the seat rails exposed. Duct taped it up to assure the seat didn't get damaged.

I don't think these work with the recaros. LMR' s ad for these says it won't work with the boss 302. I had pm'ed another member to ask about them and he said they didn't work properly in his boss. I assume the reason they don't work with boss 302's are the recaros.

Just as a reference from another forum.

Have you ever wished there was a little more leg room in your 2005-2014 Mustang? Well your wish is our command. Now there is an answer for Tall Mustang Owners!!!!!!!!!!
These 2005-2014 Mustang seat track extensions adds up to 3" of extra leg room and will work on either side. This kit is designed to relocate the coupe seat position back 4 1/2" and will raise it about 1/2" over stock locations. 2005-2014 Mustang Convertible applications position adjusts an additional 3" back and raises it 1/2" over stock. Now you can stretch out and get a little more comfortable in your Mustang.

* * *NOTE: Will not work on 2012-2013 BOSS 302 Mustangs .* * *
