Remote wire question.

On a 2012 is there somewhere in the trunk to tap the remote wire? Read it somewhere but couldn't find it with search.

In my recent install we just ran a wire from where the radio harness is. Couldn't think of any off the top of my head

I thought I read somewhere that the antenna in the trunk had a power source. For what I don't know I just read it somewhere.

I just ran a wire from my fuse panel in the passenger floor. Pretty simple to do if you don't find one

You are correct. It is the blue wire. That's what I'm going to use when my amp comes in.

yes, the antenna amplifier is mounted on the antenna in the trunk, exellent source for 12v key on power, as said it is blue

The remote wire really isn't a complex signal, so wiring it out of the antenna amp is no big deal.

For other complex signals like RCAs, I would never wire them from anywhere but immediately behind the head unit.
