For those of you that have installed an aftermarket steering wheel, did you remove the clock spring to fit the hub on to the steering column?

I'm in the middle of installing an aftermarket steering wheel and the hub doesn't sit flat (MOMO hub).

street car or track day car?

dont get pulled over in VA or MD cause they will really get on you for that. I know in VA they will write tickets for unlawful modifications and send you in for inspection.

and to finish your question is yes. i had to swap for mine when i first did it. make sure you dont move the center portion of the clock spring during removal or you can break the centering tabs inside.

Kevin thanks for the info. Yeah this is for a street car - I will be driving it on the streets.

With the clock spring removed, do the turn signals and horn still work?

for the turn signals there is a set pin which rotates with the column and will still turn the signals off. the horn im not sure. i didnt have mine connected for sometime and dont really use it.

my car is an 05, they may have changed things for the 2010 due to the redesign of the column for aesthetics.

Not sure about the horn; for me, that's not a big loss anyway. The biggest loss will be the lack of an airbag. I'm not sure how you'll get around the blinking airbag light if you remove it.
