i'm working on my jeep using the PC, orange pad, and meguiars #105. the previous owner removed the side moldings using what looks like a scraper. i've gone over the area a few times now and although it's significantly better there are still some pretty good scratches. is there anything i can do to remove them short of wet sanding. below are pics

this is about what the area looked like before i started.

and this is after going over it a few times.

Try a few more passes with the 105 and pray...How much pressure are you using? Are you moving the pad very slowly for each pass (1/2-1inch per second) or quicker?

As stated, move very slowly with as much pressure as possible while keeping the pad spinning. If multiple passes with this procedure don't work, I'd look into wetsanding, or learn to live with it.

Put your hand in a zip lock baggy and run your finger nail over it softly, if its catching, time for a repaint.

I'd be afraid to wet sand down that low as you would most likely have to sand away the top layers of the clear coat which really store the UV protections.

from what everyone says the paint on these is a lacquer single stage. i just figured it looks better than it did by far and since it will be my dd i'll just leave it be how it is. got everything done now except putting the wax on. zymol rouge
