Simple question, where should I weld in resonators? Ive got a 2010 GT with longtubes into factory H-pipe and Black Widow race venoms. At about 2000-2700 rpms (4.10 gears highway rpms) I have some pretty terrible rasp and drone inside the cabin. Im thinking of welding in some 9.5" Vibrant resonators (12" total) which I can fit either in the area that steps inward on the 45 degree angle from the collectors into the H-pipe. Or I can weld them in between the H-pipe but before the exhaust curves up over the rear axle. Anyone have some insight as to what would be best to eliminate or at least reduce the drone/rasp from 2000-2700 rpm? The section between the H-pipe and the curve over the rear axle I can also fit in the longer 16-18" resonator that are available. Ive also considered a Helmholtz style resonator, but I think Ill have a hard time finding room for them since I would need 2, (1 on each side). If I did end up welding in the 12" resonators between the collectors and H-pipe would that be too much heat for the resonators and burn them up very quick or not really?
Would be excellent if someone had somewhat the same setup as me and had the same problem that they fixed and could chime in.
Also are Vibrant resonators good? If not who makes good resonators?
