Posting this all around for any quick advise -

After install and tune, she runs great! scary fast! but at start up the idle is week very - bounces up and down around 700 and 900 and even cuts off now and again on the start ups.

Other times after a few runs around town she's idling around 900 - 1000 steady with no issues.

Any ideas?

**a little history if it helps...after first install of cai and bama tune car has gone into limp mode a few times with same weak idle issue described above.

**a new tune later and install of 3500 stall pi torque converter the new idle seemed to be over 1000rpm strong and steady! but had tranny issues

**also currently she loses power and bogs in reverse the most

Some suggest the throttle position is off...

I say have another tuner check the tune is this a dyno tune...if its not i strongly recommend getting one for safety and driveability

I don't know how exactly. Couldn't find the new location of the maf. If i get a set by step on how to clean them I'll give it a try.

I'm such a newb. my tuner wants me to bring it back in, they are having trouble getting the car to take a 1000 rpm idle.

The maf is right by the air filter. I would have the tuner clean it if you're not familiar with it. It's pretty sensitive.

oh and make sure they use maf cleaner and not brake/carb cleaner.

how old is the unit.. it looks like there are 3 places they have them at. mine was one of the first proto-types from bbr. it has the maf far down the TB pipe close to the fan. Now they are in the intercooler, but I just saw one from someone else just yesterday where it was higher up the TB pipe. like maybe a foot away. He had issues like you. He was going through tillman and they couldn't nail the tune without moving the maf to the intercooler. Either way I would try what the other suggested first. let us know

Brand new unit - i saw the maf by looking at the intercooler through the grill, it's connected to the top of the intercooler! I cant reach it.

from what I remember people had to take off the bumper to get to it. Also when you extended your maf wire, did you solider it or just crimp it on? Make sure that is good also. Other then that you can check your plugs. My idle was bouncing around a month ago and I didnt know why.. I swapped out the plugs and its solid now..

I have had cold start issues for a long time, but its different then yours. When I step on the gas the rpms will bog down a little then shoot up. Once its fully warm its go to go. It seems like I'm the only one with this issue though... no one can save me =-/

it sucks and it's scary when no one is sure of whats going on with an issue your having - some times the solutions is stumbled on by mistake. I'm heading to the tuner tomorrow...ahhh the joys of hot roding!

not only you buddy. My car does the exact same thing. It will bog down if you try to drive it within a couple minutes of startup. If you do decide to drive it, it will start to jump on you if you give it gas. Pain in the ass. I figure that since my car is giving me 500whp, then I can afford to let her sit for a few minutes to warm up before I go run her.

Does your car bog when parked as well. Mine idles fine but as soon as you give it gas, it sounds like shit and the RPM's drop.

It starts and idle is good.. here is a vid of me tapping the gas when parked.. turn the vol up high

its not just a few minutes of warm up.. I need it fully warmed.. like 10 minutes.. hahah

if I try to drive off like that i sometimes get like some type of intake backfire.. it's strange.

I'm suppose to get a remote tune here soon. So we will see.

PROCHARGER BROTHER!!!!! :wasted:

shit.. I have been going through 4 years of this.. I have had 6-7 tuners and spent 1000's.. The only thing I have not tried is switch back and using the DS tuner instead of SCT2. maybe for prochargers it works better... =-/

+1,000,000,000...I though this was only me and something was wrong with my tune. Honestly, i though it was something to do with my L/T's and the O2 sensors not heating up fast enough...but who knows???

damn i wanted a procharger till now:( ... good luck

dont let that scare you away. If your car is gonna give you this kinda power, why are you too good to give it a few minutes to warm up??? LOL
