I'll have to weigh the pro's and con's of a LS vs a Coyote. It will mostly come down to cost. That said making 600 out of an LS is a lot easier than 500 out of a Coyote.

True story. So sad, but so very true....

The Z/28 comes with a 7 liter aluminum V8 rated at 505 hp (440-450 whp bone stock), through stock manifolds. Those are picking up bug gains with just the addition of full length headers, for a near-stock 500 whp. No head work, no cam change, no other exhaust mods... Crikey!

It's a TR3160. Ford says so.

Making LS power and cubic inches is just stupid easy. Ford did us NO favors with the crap bore spacing of the mod motors. A baby LS is 5.3 liters. You can pick one up on the street in front of the junkyard at 3 for $100, it seems like. Meanwhile, if you want a 5.3L Coyote, it's a $20k+ proposition. I've got a 370" Rodeck chevy lurking in the corner of my buddies shop, just biding it's time, waiting for my Coyote to barf.

It's no mystery why Superchargers are so popular in the Ford camp.

The 13' GT500 track pack cars have a "oil pump" built into the trans to circulate trans fluid to the trans cooler. Pretty trick, I wish my T-56 Magnum had one. I have to run an electric pump.
