So, being mostly a Bourbon guy myself (Makers mostly, and Bulleit and Turkey in the past), I've not really ever tried to many Scotches before because in the past they weren't sweet enough for me, and I'm just now getting into drinking scotch by itself (or on ice) since I guess my tastes have refined enough to drink something more dry without soda. So, a coworker is kinda getting me into Scotch.
Earlier this week I tried some really good stuff he had (I forget what it was, 58% or so, cask strength 15 year), and MAN it really tasted good on a few cubes of ice! So much more rich and enjoyable than the bourbon that I'm used to! But sadly, that stuff was probably 2 or 3 times what I'd like to pay.
So anyway, I picked up a bottle of Balvenie Double wood 12 year from Trader Joes for just over $30, and I'm enjoy it quite alot! Any other Scotch drinkers out here who used to (or still) drink Bourbon? What scotch would yall suggest to me to pick up next? Something in the $30 or less range for 750ml.
