Seqeuntial tailights not pass inspection?

I have had these for years on differrent mustangs and never had a problem, the guy said seqeuntial tailights when you hit the brake and they come one at a time is illegal and wont pass???

Nothin in Utard about it. Many cars come with sequential lights from the factory. I would grab a copy of your inspection requirements. Most states post them online at the DMV sites.

9. Foreign material is placed on or in front of the headlamp lens or interferes with the beam from the lamp. No glazing may be placed over or in front of the headlamps unless it is a part of an approved headlamp assembly.
a. Reject if vehicle has wire, unapproved plastic covers, any other materials that are not original equipment or any colored material placed on or in front of the headlamps.
b. Vehicles registered as street rods may have clear, rigid plastic or glass headlamp lens covers in front of sealed beam units to replace original manufacturer's equipment.
c. EXCEPTION: A clean impact film known as Headlight Savers produced by Grand Prix Motoring Accessories may be applied to the headlight lens to absorb impact of rocks, etc.

I looked up your Inspection criteria (Virginia) and no where does it mention either items you have.
It only states that Illumination of all lamps, lens color, and condition of lens.
In other words that the lamps work. You my friend have a jerkoff your dealing with.
Go to another station to get your inspection done.
You have failed nothing.

Yeah i agree im pretty pissed, and now i have a friggin rejected sticker, i might have trouble getting on base for work tomorrow. I'm just going to go somewhere else. He also said this sticker was illegal on the top right corner of my windsheild and needed to be removed, but he can f*ck off i aint removin it.

mine passed VA inspection and i have sequentials and a windsheild banner. it was even at a Ford dealership

I had Seq Taillights and the VA Inspection failed me, I just unplugged them and took it back, Wait till the 2010 Mustang comes with them from the factory then they can't say anything.

I found a Mustang Friendly Inspection station in Northern Virginia, the owner has a Modded Mach 1...

Chances are the 2010 tail lights will be sequential only when signalling a turn. When you apply the brakes, they won't sequence.

I think it's silly though, I love my sequentials!

I honestly don't see a problem with the sequentials, according to the book, its perfectly legal for these bikers to ride around with strobes in their headlamps to make themselves visible to traffic, i would compare that to the sequentials, no harm no foul. and yea 2k05gt is right. i do have a tendency to be lil more lenient with mustang drivers. lol
